just wondering - is this where you go to see the fireworks or parade? i'm confused. how early should you arrive (going end of sept.) thanks!

The Fantasmic Theater is in MGM... it is where the nighttime show Fantasmic takes place. Parades will be held during the day in the park - usually down the main street and around. You can see parade routes on park maps.

To view Fantasmic in Sept., I'd suggest arriving about an hour early to get good seats. Or you can do the Fantasmic Dinner Package to get seats in the VIP section.

The good thing about this show is there is almost no BAD seats!! Every section gets a great view!! Enjoy! :Pinkbounc

The theatre for Fantasmic is not the parade viewing area. It is a huge amphitheatre where the Fantasmic show is put on either once or twice per evening depending on when you go. The Fantasmic show is a mix of fireworks, characters, special effects and a storyline that should not be missed in our family's humble opinion. In the 3 trips we've taken since 2000 we haven't missed Fantasmic. We've done the Fantasmic dinner package twice to assure we get seats even 30 minutes prior to the show. (Check the boards for more details on the Fantasmic dinner package at 3 MGM restaurants). Even without the dinner package, you'll get seats likely, even last week when it was busy, people were getting back seats 30 minutes prior to showtime or less.

As for the MGM parade, we keep missing it due to weather or whatever, but it runs daily at 5:30 and the route is mapped out on the MGM brochure you'll get when entering the park. It's characters on cool cars/vehicles and it should be good!

Enjoy MGM - it's a favourite park with my 8 and 11 year old! Just try to get the showtimes organized so you don't miss things and fastpass Rock and roll rollercoaster - still my 11 yr old son's favourite ride out of all the rides at Disney and Universal.

Fantasmic is like a live stage, fireworks and water parade show. End of sept is not as busy as other times of the year but stilll people line up about an hour or two before the show to get a good seat. Sometimes that time of year you might be able to get a last minute seat, but that can vary night to night. If you don't want to wait too long you can do the Fantasmic Dinner package. Unfortunately if you have the dining plan you can not use credits for it...but I am going end of sept and paying out of pocket for it even though i have the dining plan. They give you option of a few restaurants at MGM and there is a set price for your meal which you need to give cc info to reserve (if you don't show they will charge you a fee). The best part is though they give you a voucher so you go to a special entrance and have reserved seating on the right side of the theatre. You still need to get there at least 30 mins before to guarantee you get your seat though....but I think its worth it! This is where you see 'Fantasmic!', the special effects spectacular that you must see. It has Mickey Mouse starting off as the Sorcerer's Apprentice defeating lots of Disney Villains in an absolutely fantastic stage, water, fire & special effects show. IMHO this is a must see. We got to the amphitheatre 2 hours before it started and got a front row seat but I am lead to believe that all the seats have a good view. Hope this helps.
