I was looking at park hours and times of the different shows and it looks like MGM is closing at 10pm on May 28th, 29th and 30th and Fantasmic is running at both 9pm and 10:30pm. Can this be correct? Has anyone experianced Fantasmic running after the official closing time of MGM?

Yes, it's correct. The second showing starts after the park closes but you must be lining up well before that time. So if the park closes at 10, and show is at 10:30, you need to be finding seats no later than 10.

That's interesting to know-- I never knew this before. Learn something everyday!!

Thanks for the reply QuickGold. This is good to know.

Actually, you may not have to line up for seats that much before 10:00. We were there last year on last Saturday in May (5/31?) We entered MGM around 8:45. DS's did RnR 3 times, and ToT once before lining up for Fantasmic, and I don't think it was much before 9:50. Even when the show started, the theater was only about 2/3 full.

I agree with Simba's mom. If you can handle the late hour, the seond Fantasmic show is a great time to go b/c you don't have to line up early. I don't know if it is ever totally full, but it hasn't been we've gone.

Absolutely, subsequent showings are always less crowded than the first showing and you should always take advantage of multiple showings. And of course, how early you have to line up depends on the time of year you go. Usually there is more than 1 showing per night during the busier times of the year but obviously Easter week wont be as bad as Christmas/July 4.

If only my kids could stay up until 10:30 (without being miserable the next day)... I guess that's why we booked a Fantasmic Dinner Package.
