Fantasia Chess Set

Maaaaaany years ago at the local DS there was for sale a chess set with pieces from the original Fantasia movie - I think the pieces were metal of some kind. The pawns were the little mushrooms, knights were little unicorns, and I believe the King and queen were alligater and dancing hippo??

Have always regretted not getting it when I saw it.

Has anyone ever seen one or know where I could find more information about it?

I recall seeing that item at WDW but it was several years ago. Good luck and I hope you find it.

The Fantasia Chess Set was a limited edition set of pewter (and possibly brass) statuettes. The pawns were the worker brooms, Bishop was the allegator, knights were the baby pegasus, and the mushrooms made up the rook, Sorcerer's apprentice Mickey made up the King and the Ballerina Hippo was the Queen.

The set was limited to 1500, and I was lucky enough to buy set #758. It cost around $550+ Tax (the first major purchase I ever made - I think I was 16).

It appears it comes up on EBay but very very rarely. Last one I can find was in June 2013.

I might be willing to sell mine one day, but not for less than I paid. I've kept mine in amazing condition, but don't have the original box.

I tried to post photos, but the board won't let me cause this is my first post.
