Up until a couple of years ago I did. I have found a cross body bag holds more and is more comfortable. After a couple of days I hated the weight of my fanny pack around my waist. It really bugged me. I don't notice the weight of my cross body bag at all.
if you ever travel to Europe leave the fanny packs at home!!!
Also the word fanny has a not so nice meaning in the UK. I am sure some of the UK folks are reading this and laughing
Or are you just trying to protect us from ridicule?

they aren't used in Europe
So? I'd still take one. There are people here who don't like them too, doesn't dissuade me from doing what works best for me.
A fanny pack for every trip!!! It is so comfortable and easy to access! Backpacks are scary as all your things are behind you and can be accessed by someone else. And not to mention how many times I have experienced or witnessed a backpack wearer turn around and hit another guest(or me or my kids) because they forget the pack is back there!!! Also as mentioned you do not always need to take off the pack for rides! Found a few backpacks on rides that people forgot to grab at the end of the ride. My DH and I take turns wearing it. Don't care what anyone else thinks- it is perfect for getting around Disney!

I have a Coach body cross over. When I don't wear it over the body, I unhook and tighten the strap and wear it around my waist. Works like a charm.
According to friends of mine in Australia, fanny pack is a term for a sanitary napkin. You can probably guess what fanny means.
I've never found them to be comfortable. I have a small backpack that I use for the parks. I don't find it to be particularly comfortable, either. After so many hours, I think carrying anything isn't fun. I might try a cross-body and see how that goes.
