Fanny pack or bag for men?

Oh ya, the poncho...gotta remember to put that in my bag too. :) I wonder if an umbrella will fit...hmmmmmm

I used to use fanny packs when we would go to 6 Flags (we had passes for them until we realized how much more we loved DL) and I always had to take mine off. It didn't sit right with the seat restaints and was always uncomfortable for me. I wonder if I was wearing it wrong? lol probably, knowing me.....LOL My backpack or purse will fit into the little holders on all the rides so I'm OK if I have to take it off. :)

Another vote for cargo pants/shorts.:thumbsup2

(I lost my Dark Wing Duck fanny pack):sad2:

I have gone many routes, including my camera bag with an extra pocket for everything I need, a small purse, just pockets. I am contemplating a bagalini, but they do seem large. Recently my 12 year old stopped using his $60 sling backpack that I had bought him, so I was looking that over and trying it on. I think it will work perfect for our next trip. It will move easily from front to back and I think not be too heavy, if I don't over pack it. It will easily hold water bottles, ponchos, passes, sunglasses, bandaids, sunblock, etc. for my family of 4, and can go between my hubby, myself and my tween.

My husband and I swore that we would NEVER be caught dead wearing fanny packs but when we went to look for an alternative we really didnt find anything that would do what we wanted it to. Then we found a fanny pack that was on the large side that came with a strap extender, so we made the strap as loose as it would go and we both wore them like messenger bags over our shoulders and across our chest, the worked out perfectly and when we took pics and such we would throw them over our backs. We didnt really care what we looked like, we werent there for a fashion show, but they definately came in handy!

We do the same thing re: picture taking. It is not flattering wearing a FP in photos, that's for sure!:rotfl:

My two teen boys wore cell phone carriers that attatched to the belt. It has a small pocket for their tickets and passes. There is no way they would have worn fanny packs and I wanted them to have their phones with them.

The thing I worry about with cargo pants is his glasses breaking. They are prescription sunglasses so they were pretty expensive. Even in a case, I'd worry.

I don't think it would happen unless he tossed a camera or something else heavy on top of it (which could happen just as easily in a bag as in a cargo pant pocket).

I keep my sunglasses & cell phone in one front pocket & the (large digital) camera in the other....(along with other light "stuff" in either). Another poster mentioned above about the comfort.....the pockets are BELOW the thigh....& you don't even feel what's in your pocket.

As mentioned above....even a water bottle is doable. :)

Haha!

Fannypack? Forget that. I may not be going to a fashion show but atleast I know how to dress like a cultured person. Backpacks over fannypacks. Must you insist on me wearing one. Forget it. I'll stay at home.

I do not see the point of (if you don't have kids) carrying bags while in the park.

Unless, you're cameras are too big (they have their own bags), you carry snacks around (uhmm, that's the point of kiosks there).

Other than that, I don't find any specific reason why should we hassle ourselves with unwanted carryons.

Sunglasses, camera, wallet, phone, hanky, lip balm, mint/candy is all I carry.

Why should we pack our whole kitchen and living rooms guys?

DH wears both glasses and contacts. I think on the WDW trip a few months back, he wore his contacts, but had some fairly expensive sunglasses with him. I remember he wore them tucked inside his shirt for almost every indoor ride, or even on his face for some of the outside fast rides. I gave him all kinds of grief about it, bothering him that he was going to lose them doing both of these things, but of course, he didn't  . So much for henpecking ...

If you are not a gambler like DH, I suppose I'd create room in a pocket for a eyeglass case or room in whatever bag you are carrying.

I've got some Guccis, Pradas and Diesel sunglasses and it never got lost in any of the rides. They barely get any damage as well.

Even rollercoasters and sports activities. That's why there are pockets in our trousers and shirts (at times).

I carry basically only the things I need and I am also able to slip an extra 2 lenses into my FP so I don't have to carry an extra camera bag. That enables me to hold my DSLR on my shoulder like a bag (It's always conveniently located to take a photo) and my camcorder hangs on the other shoulder or DS carries it. Everything is light and easy to access. Things that need protecting ($$, CC, gloves, Park Passes, Glasses, Camera lenses) are all in the FP.

The clothes I wear don't have large pockets.

With me to the parks I carry...
Camera
Kleenex (hooray for allergies)
Meds (hooray for allergies again.)
ID/Credit cards/small amount of cash
Chapstick
Phone
Sunglasses

"Dress like a cultured person"....I've never heard anyone say such a thing. That's funny. I suppose "cultured" could be considered a subjective term though. I don't think there's anything wrong with wearing something that's comfortable and convienient.

And it's quite silly that wearing or not wearing a specific thing would determine if you go to Disneyland.

I'm glad that I don't put much weight in what other people think of how I dress. Or perhaps I'd never even leave my house if I worried about such things.

Thanks for your post. It put a smile on my face.

LucyDingo, I forgot, I have allergies and junk like that too so I need the kleenex and the meds -- and the phone! How could I have forgotten the phone? :rotfl:
