Would a fanny pack be too much for my DD5? Where can I find one that's kid sized? Thanks

Hi! My kids (who were 3 1/2 and almost 5 last year) both had a Fisher Price fanny pack....and it was PERFECT!!!!! It has a little pouch and a water bottle. They LOVED each having their own thing, and the bottles were great....we just refilled them every time we got a drink. If you do a google search for Fisher Price fanny pack, you should find it!! HTH! :)

We got our kids fanny packs at MK. They were about $6 or $8 each but besides serving as a fanny pack that was also one of their souveniers for the trip. We got them at one of the stores on main street. DD got tink and DS got sorcerer mickey.

Do you remember how long ago you purchased the Tink fanny pack? My DD would love that!

I think it was October 2003.

I purchased a Tink & a Sorcerer Mickey child size fanny pack off e-bay for our May 'o4 trip. They probably came from MK but didn't see them when we were there. The problem was that the zipper pull broke off the Tink pack within hours of DD putting it on and the packs were too small to hold autograph book. I had also purchased an AK full-size fanny pack for older son which also held a water bottle. This was much more useful & definitely came in handy. (also purchased on e-bay from different seller)
Hope this helps.

I purchased these particular fanny packs at MK because they fit the smaller kids better. A larger pack would be too big around my DD waist. It would now fit my DS who has put on 20 lbs in a year so I guess I'll pass his down to younger DS and get older DS an adult size pack. I think this one will hold an autograph book (can't find it right now to check). But it did hold $, chapstick, crackers, and whatever other little stuff they thought they should have.

i got fanny packs with the kids rolling luggage...it came with the packs, a back pack & the rolling luggage. i got it at target last summer.

We had some of those too. Those are usually vinyl and tear. The ones I found at MK are fabric.

I love the ones I got from Coleman. They have a coleman kids category and that's where I found it. I got one for my older daughter then a few years later I bought a second one for my other child too.

I did have to tie a knot in the strap to make it short enough to fit around her tiny waist, but it wasn't a problem. The pack is large enough to hold her autograph book, disposable camera, pen, and some snacks. It has a place for a water bottle too.

It's called the Deluxe H2O Fannypack and you can find it under kids water carriers on the website.

I got my grandkids ones at Wal-Mart. Once we got to the park they didn't want to wear them as fanny packs anymore so they wore them across there body like a purse. I had forgotten about them not liking to wear them as fanny packs until the other day when looking at the pictures.

I've also been looking for something for DD to use at WDW in September. So far, no luck finding a fanny/waist pack in her size (she's in a 2T/3T now). I've tried Wal Mart, Target, TDS (online and a mall store) as well as a few others. I even just tried looking on eBay but just found one that looks more like a stuffed animal on a belt than a waist pack. :) While I'd like to find one with a Disney character on it, something simple would be fine as long as it's a good size for her so it doesn't get in way when she's seated on rides.

Last year, we did find a Kim Possible waist pack for her that just barely went small enough. The problem with it, though, is that the pack slides on the strap around the waist so doesn't stay in one place. Also, it just has some small velcro closures which doesn't seem secure enough for more than basic things, like snacks. If all else fails, I may end up making one for her if I can find a pattern... and assuming I get her "Princess" gown finished in time. :)

I found some at Lillian Vernon for my kids. They hold water bottles (included) and will hold money, chapstick, small snack. They are small. Do not know if they will hold autograph book (never seen one).

The fit my children fine (3 and 7) but my kids are not, in any way, petite.

The ones I bought were under $7. They also have beautiful princess costumes.princess:
DD got one (Aurora) 'cause she's really spoiled.;) But she'll wear it for Halloween and CRT/PSB next year.

I bought my grandkids (10, 9 & 7) fanny packs from Wal*Mart ... $3.96 ... they are big enough to hold a Disney autograph book, penny press collection book, *fat* pen and have a small outer pocket that's big enough for a small digi-cam or snack.

They were too big in the waist, but it only took me a few minutes to cut the straps, shorten them and re-stitch them.

Shortened the waistbands last night ... took me about 20 minutes to do three fanny packs ... very quick and easy.

I did the exact same thing that Memaw2Mw did, except I took the label off the front and ironed on a Disney patch. I have one Mickey, one Ariel, and one Tinkerbell and I paid less that $15 for all three.

We've been 3 times with DS who is now 5

We puchased an adult one and it wrapped twice around his waist - and when he didn't want to wear it that way he wore it across his body like a purse. It was great because there were times he didn't want it at all - but because it was adult-sized I could wear it and so could DH

We did NOT keep anything of great value in it - just in case! Hang on to your DD's ticket yourself.
