As a proud new waist pack owner, and as discussed on another thread...what do you pack in yours?

Okay, lets hear what everyone stores in those things! :)
>>>IN my Travelon nylon bag from QVC I carry
cash-debit card(to cut down on those expensive impulse buys)
Drivers License and Insurance card-hotel card(with park ticket on it)
pressed powder compact-lip balm
sunglasses
tylenol
band aids
digital camera(with extra batteries)

Other stuff like bottled water, ponchos, light jacket for those very cold a/c shows, my daughter keeps in a small backpack. I try to pack very economically otherwise you end up toting the kitchen sink!

For our trip, I plan on getting one of those sport backpacks. the ones that have drawstring closures...most of them are semi-waterproof.

Things to include:
camera (in a ziplock)
chapstick
advil
money, credit cards, room keys, spare change (i usually put them in one small zip change pouch)
sunglasses
travel sunscreen
bandaids (can't predict those blisters)
extra ziplock bag (to waterproof!)
feminine products (if you are unfortunate enough to have the "girl problem" on vacation week)
cell phone in a ziplock
extra ponytail holders
bobby pins

something kind of like this... http://i2.ebayimg.com/02/i/06/7b/ee/bb_1.JPG

hope that helped!

Love the tinkerbell bag! One thing I will say though - those string straps can really start to cut into your shoulders afer a while - especially if you are only wearing a vest top or t shirt. Even if you start the day light you're bound to end up buying things and adding them to the bag... and it can get quite painful. JMHO :)

How about everyone with a fanny pack say what brand name they have. I will be looking for a new one. Right now I have a Travelsport one. Has 3 zipper pockets. I carry.
Wallet
clipon sunglasses
digi camera
park maps
will look for the 79 cent poncho's (good idea)
spare socks (bad feet)
band-aids
tylnol
tums
tissue
extra batteries/cam and digi
extra tape and memory cards

Hi,

After doing a bunch of reading on these boards and elseware, I decided to buy my Fannypack from here.

http://www.ebags.com/high_sierra/titan/product_detail/index.cfm?modelid=18415&NDA=N-2008151

It is a terrific pack with 3 zippered compartments (2 that are big enough to hold video cam and camera and more). It also has 2 side mesh "deep" outside pockets that can hold waterbottles and on the front, it has this small rope type thing that you can hook carribeaners to to carry the small misting fans or what ever else you might want to hook to it.

It is light weight and very comfortable.

I received my order in 4 days and was really pleased and it is also on sale for $17.99.

I love my Fannypack!

(if in Commando mode)Probably more stuff that I can't remember, but it all fits in the vest, with room to spare.

:worship: Not Worthy! I love that vest, but my husband would Kill me! He will only accept my wearing a fanny pack at the parks - no where else!
One year when we went I saw a mom with the Commando Pack - It was huge! While some girls gawk and dream of Gucci, I dreamt of that pack....It was amazing.. So I searched and searched and found one on line. I have two that I bring with me - the Commando and the regular black one. When my DH doesn't want to lug around a back pack, I wear the Commando and pack my dvd/video camera and regular camera. When he brings the back pack, I wear my regular one.
Here's me with my Commando. It holds everything, including a water bottle on each side. I usually put my Misty Mate (check them out on Ebay - It Is ESSENTIAL!! Especially for a hot day in the parks)

Here's my regular sized bag, which I put my driver's license, GHI cards, lipstick, Purell, a baggie filled with tylenol, pepto-bismol tablets, antacids, gas-x (hey, all these meds, you never know!) pen and small pad, park maps, sunglasses, Misty Mate, cheap poncho from K-Mart, band-aids, camera (which I lace onto the fanny pack belt - it's in its own little pouch) basically what everyone else uses.

Also, both my daughters use them, too. They put their cameras and other stuff in it - whatever they need for the day. After many trips, even they know what to pack. :goodvibes

refuse to wear one this time!!! My hips don't need the extra load. I bought a teardrop shaped, across the back type bag at Target. It's not very big but I'm not gonna be the pack mule this year!!

I hope to fit:

Small vacation wallet (i LOVE taking that out!!) w/ID's, Room Cards, etc in it.

Small digital camera

Anti-bacterial wipes

Bandaids

Small tube of sunblock & lip balm

Park map & my itinerary

Glass case

Ok, what else do I need? DH & DS will carry their stuff in cargo pants pockets (I hope). I will probably end up w/a few things from DD like her comb!!

Oh, and I've been told ponchos over their dead bodies!!

Corryn, I love that Commando pack! While I agree, it is a 'Disney-only' thing, I would much rather wear that than a backpack on my shoulders. Where can I find one?
Also, thanks for the tip about the Misty Mate, I looking at them on Ebay now.

I think I may buy myself one of those front pocket wallets for men. They normally hold a few cards and some have a money clip on them and some have a little pocket for money. They are very small. It would go great in my pack. :cool1:

Ok I don't wear a fanny pack but I am enjoying seeing what everyone carries into the park. I carry a small lightweight, leather backpack. I carried a small nylon backpack our first year and I am embarrassed to say that my back was sweating onto it from wearing tank tops. I wore the leather one last year and it is fairly loose so no problems there. The only thing I might add to the pre-exsisting lists is a Tide stain remover pin. I can't stand to walk around with a huge spot of ketchup on me. I always seem to spill ssomething on me. :lmao:

Don't forget the moleskin! Much better than bandaids for blisters. I precut it and put it in my mini first aid kit, that of course goes into my fanny pack. Also a couple of snacks to tide us over if we get stuck in a line. Pins, pins and more pins!

Don't forget your index card or whatever with your ADR confirmation numbers on it. Won't take up much room and may save you a headache or two.

I also carry little containers of presweetened Crystal Light or Kool-Aid to add to the water in my bottles after filling them at the water fountains.

I got the Eddie Bauer (sp?) waistpack that has one small zippered compartment and one HUGE zippered compartment that can even hold a VHS-C videocamera! It also has a mesh section on each side and came with two squirt drink bottles in the mesh thingies.

I got it at Target.

Hint for protecting cameras - a pouch made from polar fleece!! DH is a backpacker/camper, and he has a headlamp/flashlight, and he has a tiny candle holder - both came in polar fleece pouches that have a string/think shoelace size... when you pull the top closes...

it would be so easy to make it to fit a sony camcorder dvd style, or a digi camera!!

YES! I didn't even think about fleece! But make sure to look for the water resistant kind, because there are lots of look-a-likes!
The drink packets are a must for us. :cool1: DH can't do sugar or carbonated drinks.
We saw the Eddie Bauer ones, they looked good too.

We all carried fanny packs during our last trip and it made things much easier. We tucked one of the small water bottles in to drink and refill from the water fountains for drinking during long waits.

Also a pack of gum! It was amazing - when the 7 year old started dragging how a piece of gum would cheer him up and give him a little energy!
Bring your own from home since they do not sell gum at Disney.

After a few days lugging around a fanny pack, my back gets tired. I tried hanging everything from a lanyard, but that hurt my neck after awhile. Now I pick up a few cheap clear plastic credit card holders at walmart (the kind to put in a wallet. I slip in my park ticket, room key, credit card, cash, a few tylenol, a tiny poncho - one in each section. It fits into a pocket! When I do this I make sure I have a button or zipper pocket on my shorts/pants.

I sometimes will carry my cell phone in another pocket.

DH usually carries an umbrella off his belt (he refuses to wear a poncho), his cell phone also is on his belt, and a tube of sunscreen (we found some the size of a chapstick) goes into his pocket. Sometimes we bring a camera, more often not.

We usually go back to the room for mid-day so this gets us thru fine.

I am looking at investing in a fanny pack and would love to see examples of what other people buy. I also want to know where people are getting the small hand held mister fans at? I checked my Walmart but they don't have any.

Hi there,
I went to Target this morning and they are having a HUGE 75% off sale on summer items. Adorable rain ponchos is awesome colors, hand held fans, etc. If you are close to a Tareget you might want to look there!

Money
Tickets
Cell phone
Ponchos
Hand wipes
Camera
Small bottle with aspirin & rolaids :rotfl:

I have to have my fanny pack at the parks :Pinkbounc

Pooch: already look like I carry a "fanny" pack :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:
Too Funny!!!!!
Samano, I don't know where I purchased it from. I remember being online for a while trying to find just the right one. I took measurements of my video camera and checked the inside dimensions of the fanny packs to make sure it would fit. There aren't many out there!
I just took a few minutes to search my house for the bag..I think it's downstairs with my luggage. I'll check this Friday so I can get the name of it. You're really supposed to wear it around your back - it's a Lumbar Pouch. But wearing it in the front was no problem :teeth:

Oh, yeah, that Crystal Light...I take the Wylers packets (same thing as Crystal Light) and just add it to my water when we sit down to eat. Too much soda gives me "bubbles" :rolleyes1
