Fancy Dress Ideas

Hi

I am off on my hols tomorrow for a week, but I need some ideas so I thought you could all start thinking for me, so when I get back there will be lots of ideas.

Dec 2007 - my Dad is going to be 60 and Jan 2008 - I will be 30, so we are having a joint fancy dress party.

The theme is going to be movies, and we are hiring a marquee and we are going to do the house as though people are coming to the Oscars.
There will be an Oscar for the best dressed person.

I used to love the film Annie, and also The Wizard of Oz, so I was thinking of either Annie or Dorothy, but I want to consider some other options too.

Anyone got any ideas for me??

I suppose there is Monroe's iconic white dress or - if you were feeling brave something a-la Liz Hurley held together with safety pins!

WOW...this is what my DD wants to do for her 18th!
She wants a champagne fountain on arrival and a chocolate fountain for dessert, a "red carpet", photographs being taken of guests on the "red carpet", Hollywood movie music on arrival, a band etc.

As for costumes, the world is your oyster really. Have a look at some of the costume / fancy dress websites as a lot of them have movie star costumes / ideas. There are so many female characters you could go as:

Princess Leia from Star Wars
Queen Amidala from Star Wars
Arwen from Lord of the Rings
Sandy / Pink lady from Grease
Scarlett O'Hara from Gone with the Wind
Cruella de Vil
Any of the Disney Princesses / female villains
female superheros eg. superwoman, catwoman, wonder woman

the list is as endless as your imagination!
