Fan in room?

We will be staying at the All Star Movies next week. I like to sleep with a fan on for a noise filter, does anyone know if the front desk would have one or should I plan on hauling mine along? Thanks!

I would plan on bringing your own. I don't think they would have them since they have AC.

I usually buy a fan during our grocery stop on the trip in from the airport. We leave it behind after we check out. It usually costs only $10-$15 for a box fan so I do not feel guilty about leaving it behind. We also have a clock radio with a white noise sound machine that we bring just in case we cannot get a fan at the store and it works pretty well. (this happened on our last trip..no fans were in the store in January.)

If you are driving I would just bring your own but if you are flying it can be a pain to deal with checking the box.

I found out last year that there are many many of us "gotta have my fan to sleep" people out there.

Last year DH and I went "fan hunting" at a Wal-Mart and even the grocery store once we got there and had no luck finding a fan! It was January and I guess "off season" for them. Anyway, I learned my lesson and I bought a small box fan that fits in my hardsided suitcase. Dh could care less if we had a fan so I put it next to my side of the bed and it worked for me...just
an idea!

Good luck & have fun!

We take ours with us EVERYTIME we go! The name is Nature's Soothing Sounds. :cool1: It is very compact. Bought it @ Babies R Us!

It has 8 choices of noise on it. Everything from rain, woods, ocean and white noise. It does have a place for an adapter but we've never used it. Most times I hide it under dd who's 2 1/2 pack n play.

DO remember to bring extra batteries!

We should start a fan-swapping thread like the stroller swap.

Our whole family sleeps with a fan and I always bring a small but really noisy one wherever we go. I've tried the white noise ones and they just don't do it for me.

I've tried this before: Set up your tape recorder and tape the fan noise for a few hours. Or if you can record straight to mp3 that's even better. Make a CD out of the noise and take the CD with you. If you just need the noise and not the air circulation, this is pretty good substitute. Unfortunately for me, DH likes the air circulation on his face so we have to bring the fan.
