What, besides the room discount, can we use the card for now that they changed things? Or is it even good for anything else since they are doing away with the hard card?

OK here is the scoop!!!

FAN CLUB IS NOT GOING AWAY

They are just trying to streamline things and save some money by going paperless

Yes the cards are going to fade out

You can still get park ticket discounts online, and they have added other parks and dinner shows too!!

Yes your cards will still be honored at the gates for ticket discounts, for a while... (I bet it takes 6 months to a year)

In the future you will not have to show a card at check-in, because future room discounts will be made through the web site using a promotional code, or over the phone using a 800 number and the same code

All current reservations will be honored

Merchandise and restaurant discounts are discontinued

After a brief readjustment period, Fan Club could change again...

Tinkerbarb still has a few cards left, and they are good for up to 6 people. You can e-mail her, and see if she has one left to see if they will still honor the restaurant discounts...

Thanks muntzfab4 ! Atkins has been great for me. My goal was 30 lbs. by my trip at the beginning of June and so I'm a bit ahead of schedule!:Pinkbounc
And thank you ohanafamily for the dreaded message. No shooting the messanger, but that wasn't the answer I was looking for. I guess I can always take the card with me and ask at the park if they will honor it! I will post after my return to let everyone know if I was able to get any discounts!
 
I am wondering if that code (FAN62397) is outdated I tried 2 ressis for the same date. Got rate of 179 using just FAN, got rate of 209 using FAN62397.

do you think this means the code is outdated?

Also, I emailed Tinkerbarb about the fan card, but haven't heard back from her. Does anyone know if she still has them?

Fan Club Cards:
USO Fan Club is phasing out the hard cards for their corporate discount program and moving towards offering their discounts on the web only. Until then (probably by the end of the year) they are still excepting cards at the gates.

If reservations tells you that you need a card at check in, that is not correct according to the Fan Club department. Apparently, one is not talking to the other just yet.

Cards are still needed and accepted in Hollywood.

Be sure to go to their web site and look at the latest club member offers.

I have a fan club card from last year that i received from tinkbarb, thanks tinkbarb. We have decided to stay at a universal resort for 2 days(RPH). When using the card do they need to know the company you work for or the name of the HR person at the job, or do you just show the card at checkin. TYIA

No, you just need to show the card...actually, since they are phasing the card out you might just need the code...

They have given these cards out at events, car dealerships, I have even heard that there is a Disney Website that gives them out....
 
Barb Thank You so much for the card! I was doing the happy dance today! The only discount I could get for my dates was the fan club. You really are TINKERBARB!

I just went ahead and booked a room with the fan club rate hoping (praying!!) I will be able to get a fan club rate. Does anyone know what they will charge if I don't have the card when I check in? Will it be standard rate (229.00 compared to fan rate of 164.00!!) or some type of penalty. I desperately need a fan card!:eek:

Oh, it specifically said on my ressie "must show fan club card at check-in". Has anyone had to show their card? I'm mailing off my request to TinkerBarb tonight anyway.
 
You used to have to show it, but since they are going to virtual you shouldn't have to... TinkerBarb still has a few cards left, so I am sure she will send you one...
