Famous People You have met While at WDW

Greetings from Animal Kingdom Lodge, Zebra Trail, balcony in Room 3550. We had dinner at Jiko last night and Robert Iger and his wife, Willow Bay, and family were there having dinner in one of the wine rooms. No one knew who he was, including some castmembers, but I certainly did! He walked right by us taking his son to the men's room. Nice looking man. I am sure they received outstanding service!

While in the que area for the Dinosaur ride in AK.. where you watch the short movie setting up the ride... Some people were escorted in a side entrance and stood beside me. I glanced over and was pleasantly surprised to see Gloria Estafan with her husband and daughter... I just smiled at her and kept quiet.. not wanting to draw attention. She smiled back as if to say thanks for keeping quiet. As soon as the doors opened to proceed to the ride they were escorted away from the crowd and right into one of the ride cars. It made my day!

we saw carrot top at Rainforest Cafe in DTD a few years back.. not that he's a big celeb, but we did see him!
Also saw Alex Trebek at the WL

About 5 years ago my DH and I were at the movies in DD. We valet parked our car because it was a Friday night and raining. While waiting for them to bring our car up, this guy with bright red hair came around the corner. My DH, not being teen suave, said look at that guy’s hair and laughed. As I turned around in shock, I said that is Joey Fatone from N-SYNC. My DD, 15yo at the time, was in love with the boy band N-SYNC and I had taken her to may concerts, so I knew who he was!! I went up to him and asked if I could get a picture for DD. He took our camera and gave it a friend in his party and said we could get a group picture with my DH & me. I told him DD would not like us in her picture. He said come on we can make her jealous and he puts his arm around me. My arm did not hesitate!!! :cloud9: It was around him in a second. We pretty much wasted the rest of the film; so, we could get it developed immediately. We bought a real nice Disney frame and put the picture and Joey's autograph in the frame. Wrapped it up and gave it to our DD for her souvenir. She was soooooooooooo upset she started crying; I knew I should have gone with you guys. For the next few times we went down from that day she would go to the spot in DD where we met him and wait and see if any celebrities come by!!

Awww, that is wonderful! That would have made me so happy. I know exactly how your DD was feeling though. I am a huge *NSYNC fan. I used to always be on the look out for them whenever we went to Orlando:rotfl: I'm loving Joey on Dancing With The Stars!

I don't tend to bother celebrities if I see them anymore - Bruce Springsteen was on a treadmill in back of me at the Disney Institute a few years back (I was a member there and went several times a week). At one point, I was a few feet from him when getting a piece of fruit.

I did shake John Stamos's hand at Give Kids the World last year during my volunteer shift. I was going to kick myself if I didn't! He is even HOTTER in person, if you can believe it. I said something dorky like "thanks for visiting". :) (he has been a supporter of GKTW forever).

Hmm, quite honestly, if I did see a celebrity at Disney, I'd point it out to my family and probably move on. They're there for vacation/freedom, and they don't need a bunch of teenagers and fanatics surrounding them.

Kind of a long story but this was the first and only time Dh and I saw a celebrity at Disney. We were standing in line for Snow White's Scary Adventure and there was a little girl in line right in front of us with her mom and two boys. The little girl turned around, smiled at me, and I whispered to Dh, "She's looks *just like* Little Miss Sunshine" I also recognized one of the two boys with her but couldn't quite place him. Dh didn't think it was the little girl from Little Miss Sunshine even after her mom called her "Abigail" -- the little girl from the movie's name is Abigail Breslin.

Dh and I spent the whole ride trying to sneak peeks at them (they ended up riding in the car in front of ours) and arguing over whether it was her or not. Once the ride was over I figured out who the one boy was, he was in Disney's The Kid, and played 'Curtis' in The Santa Clause 2. We didn't know it at the time but they are brother and sister (Abigail and Spencer Breslin) and after we got back we read a report that talked about how they were in Disney for a family trip. I was so excited, it was cool to finally see a famous person LOL!

Dh asked why I didn't ask her for an autograph but I didn't want to disturb them. They seemed like they wanted to keep it really low-key, there was no security or special castmembers, they were just walking around like a regular family.

This may really show may age. When I was like 12-13y/o I was on vacation with my family at WDW. If anyone out there remembers Duran Duran I saw John Taylor there. My eyes POPPED out of my head ( I was in love with him) then:lmao: . I was so shocked I just walked with my mouth hanging open:cool1: . I told my family and they were like ya whatever. I made them turn around and go back where he looked to be going but could not find him. He winked and smiled and I was like holy cow it really is him!

Never saw him the rest of the trip :sad2: but you can bet I looked for him.

OMG...I'd have fainted:rotfl2: He was my 1st love:love: I still love Duran Duran, my all time favorite band!:yay:
And I still think no one (well, other than Orlando-see siggie:laughing: ) is hotter than John Taylor!

We saw Mario Lopez last year on December 4th. He came out of the restaurant Columbia Harbour House. A few people went up to him and took pics with him, but we just enjoyed him from a distance. He just got off the show Dancing with the Stars. Figured he was on vacation like the rest of us....

Not a WDW but at Disneyland just a few weeks ago my son said he saw Mike Tuttle Sr. from Orange County Chopper. Sure enough a while later I saw him too.

I agree he was on some show a year or so ago and looked no diffrent now then he did years ago.

I know he is one hottie thats for sure. I wish I would of tried to get a autograph or something. I think I was in such shock walking with my mouth on the ground that I could not believe my eyes type of mode. He knew I figured out who he was or else he would of not smiled and winked. isn't that something 22 years later i still remember that :cloud9:

N Sync and Joey Fatone dine at Jiko quite frequently. They were in one night when we were there. Jiko sees lots of characters. Steve Jobs is a regular when he's in town, and, of course, one of Disney's largest shareholders.

I must be on a roll, because, as I mentioned, I saw Robert Iger at Jiko on Wednesday night. Last night we ate at Artist Point at WL, and we were in Territory Lounge waiting for our table. Lavar Burton and his wife came up to the bar to talk to the manager. We were all talking about how much taller he is in person than on the big screen.

I usually become very aware of my surroundings when I see the castmembers who are guides. They are usually dressed in blue pants and white shirts with plaid vests on. When you see these guys, there is usually someone around who is famous.

We stood in line with Mario Lopez at the Mara in Dec..He was there for the candlelight processional..He was getting chicken noodle soup..He seemed very nice too

I was really tempted to pull Bob Iger aside and discuss why my Premium Annual Pass always gets demagnetized! We did notice that no one was drinking alcohol at the table, so if we shareholders picked up the tab, that's a good thing! LOL

We met Melissa Joan Hart years ago at the Magic Kingdom. This was before Sabrina was aired (probably about to air) but reruns of Clarissa Explains it All were still showing on Nick. She was waiting in line with us for a ride.

That's so cool!!! I would remember that for the rest of my life, and I'm sure you will, too!:thumbsup2
