Famous People You have met While at WDW

We saw David Prowse (played Darth Vader) at Test Track a few years ago. He was leaving the car and we were getting in. I asked him if it was like a TIE fighter. He just laughed. :)

On our Disneymoon in 1995, we saw Boy George. We didn't actually get to meet him, we just saw him from a distance. It was at Pleasure Island, pretty late as I recall. We were sure it was him - he's a difficult guy to miss. He still had the funny colored hair at that time.

We also saw him at the MK in nov. 2004. He was at the Crystal Palace, and later the Candy store at the end of Main St. He was extremely gracious, allowing everyone to take pictures. He even checked the display on the digital cameras, and if he did not like the pic, had it retaken!

During our honeymoon, I literally bumped into Mick Foley on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. There was some confusion in one of the lines, so he turned around and bumped into me.

I was in shock. I'm a big wrestling fan and love Mick Foley, but I was frozen. After we got off the TTA, he was just hanging around, waiting for his son to get off. That's when I took the opportunity to say hello. He was very cordial and even asked about my trip. When I told him it was my first trip to Disney as well as my honeymoon, he said "Well, get your bride to take a picture of us together." And my wife grabbed the camera out of the bag and snapped a shot of me and Mick with our thumbs up.

He shook my hand and told me to enjoy the rest of the trip and walked away. Very nice guy and as someone else said, huge Disney fan.

I met Ted Bramson from The Cranberry Addictions.

He was very nice even though tons of people were asking for his autograph. His wife Del Bramson (who is the lead singer of the Bottoms Up) was there. She was being photographed and was posing with fans. When I walked up to him I told him I was a huge fan and loved his new album "Crush That Thing" and he started singing it and the other song "Moon or Stars". What a great guy. Even though he is such a huge celebrity he was so humble and cool to his fans.

I've never met anyone famous at Disney World but I have had somewhat of a famous encounter several times..

1) I met George Huff from American Idol Season 3 -- very very nice guy, really cool
2) Trading Spaces did a show about 1 block away from my house (across the street from my cousins!)
3) MTV did a special my Freshman year on "True Life: I'm a Bartender" (I wasn't in that). They did film me walking into school though, don't know if they actually used it as I missed the show.

That's about it.. I'm sure I wouldn't recognize a celebrity there though so I've probably seen them. It would just seem so surreal that it would occur even though I don't really treat celebrities differently than normal people, because that's what they are.

Some very cool people you guys have met. :)

The media coordinator at my school met Gary Sinese and Johnny Cash (pre-mortem, of course). Cool thread!

Not exactly a huge celebrity, but about two years ago, I saw Joel Segal (sp?) the film critic from GMA (I think) at Donald's character breakfast at AK. He was in line for the buffet when I saw him, so I went really slow to see where he was sitting. He was with his kid, so I didn't bother him.

I saw Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie from "Full House") at MGM way back in the day. Actually my sister and I practically bumped into her and I only realized it was her after she had passed us. She was surrounded by a bunch of protective looking adults. Also saw Lily Tomlin at MGM on another trip, she was doing a book signing but very graciously signed my sister's autograph book. I was also there when Princess Di and Princes William and Harry were there but we kept missing them. If we were in the MK in the morning, they would be there in the afternoon, and so on.

My friend met Tara Lipinski in line at Splash Mountain and they became fast friends and spent the rest of the day together going on all of the MK rides.

Since I'm staying at the Grand Floridian on the next trip I hope I'll have at least one more celebrity to add to the list. After reading this whole thread, it looks like the most likely bet is Steven Tyler.

Well this wasn't at WDW, but in December as we got to the airport (dfw) very early in the morning we saw William Hung. I think that was his name. The one that sings "she bangs" picking up his luggage. He had 2 others with him. Me and DW all through the trip were saying She Bangs and still laugh to this day.

I saw Topanga from Boy Meets World back in 1996 in Toon Town in DL. I was listening to the phone where Jessica Rabbit talks to you, and I thought my friend was behind me so I said something about the appropriateness of the sexual humor in Disneyland. She didn't respond, so I turned around and it was Topanga. She glared at me like I was a freak.

I also saw Ahnold in March of 2003 right before he became governor. We got to DL right when they opened and he passed us like he was leaving the park. We tried to chase after him to at least get a picture from a distance. We were stopped by CM's who told us he didn't want to be bothered. So all we got was video of the back of his head. He's actually shorter than we thought he was going to be :cool2:

We saw 98 Degrees filming a video (probably for the holiday parade) in the NY street at MGM.

I don't know if plane rides count, on our last trip in October, Gov. Pawlenty, the governor of Minnesota, was on our flight both on the way to WDW and on the way home. We actually sat just a couple rows behind him and his family both ways. He sat in coach, which surprised me. They must have stayed at the Boardwalk, as we saw some people from his entourage there a bunch of times. My step-DS helped his DD with her luggage at the airport here at home, as she had a bunch of things she was trying to get over to the family and didn't have enough hands to do it.

A few years ago, MN Vikings quarterback Daunte Culpepper was on our flight too, on his way home to Orlando to visit family. He had his family with him - he has the cutest little girls! The poor guy got mobbed at MCO, but he handled it really well.

I keep thinking there's someone else we saw at WDW, but I can't remember who it was. I'll have to ask my DM to see if she remembers. I want to say it was someone like Carter from Trading Spaces, but i'm not sure.

We saw David Cassidy in the Monster Sound Show at MGM I think it as arround 1995. My husband saw Malcom Jamal Warner on the beach at the Contemporary a long time ago.

The guys from Arrowsmith all live with in 20 mins of me so i have seen them driving around and have actually met Steven Tyler a bunch of times and i once had to Yell at Joe Perry cause he was launching his kyak on our boat ramp at work. (hahah none were at disney but "disney related")

Yet another Mick Foley sighting here. Saw him this past January outside of the Winnie the Pooh ride. Got a pic with the thumbs up. Seemed like a great guy, but that's not really a surprise.

1991 - Jamie Curtis in Disneyland with her kids.

1999 we had a chance to hear Britney Spears sing her first song - this was way before she was big and famous - I asked my daughters if the wanted to go see that girl who sings - i then hummed the song - well, they didn't want to go - no i tease them about it saying "you see you had a chance to see her and probably take pics & autographs of her." She was on the weekly MK pamplet - and i still have the pamplet with her picture and performing time.
The captain says something like "new rising star".
We also saw Drew Carey coming out of Adventure comedy club in Pleasure Island. I was mad because i didn't take my camera with me that night.

2001 - we say Suzanne Surandon in MGM - she was a special guest who was putting her hands in the cement and signed her name - there wasn't much people that day so we got to take good pictures - I actually gave my husband the camera to take pictures - well, when i got them developed there were mainly closeups of her '****s' especially when she bent over to place her hands in the cement.

This is not a famous person but while we were in orlanda this same year 2001- we were lucky enough to see the space shuttle go off - even though it was launched from Cape Canaveral we were able to see it from our hotel near universal studios. It was amazing - the cars in the street all kinda paused to see also - we woke up early that morning to see it - got some great pictures.

I was at the Flying Fish a few weeks ago and was seated at a table next to James Hetfield, wife and three kids. In case you don't know, James is the lead singer for the band Metallica.

Years ago we saw Hulk Hogan and The now very imfamous MJ at MK
(MJ) was rushed through, like a blur-
My son is now 16 and recalls the rejection he got from "The Hulk" he was 4 and wanted his autograph, "The Hulk" said No, I am with my family, get out of here, just thought I d post that one-
since last week when we were dining at O'Hana's my son got to meet
"Mikie" from Orange County Choppers, he was with a couple friends and I believe his wife/or girlfriend, he had my son come by the Kona Cafe and have some pictures taken, my son was beaming-since that show is one of his favorites and did bring up the Hulk story to us again..
We aren't big motorcycle fans but I did ask Mike if his dad came (I love the love/hate thing) they share, remimds me of my family--LOL!
He told me "NO" he's home I came here for vacation, we all had a laugh!!!!

We went to lunch in Celebration at Front Street Grill last week too and my son saw a drummer for one of the bands he listens to.
He didnt' go over, he was eating breakfast with his family.

Years ago during the filming of the old series with Chris Lemmon and yes
Hulk Hogan (cannot remember the name)we saw Chris Lemmon at the Boardwalk.

That's my big scoop!LOL!

Pixie Dust
and celebrity sightings to all!

Other sightings..........very small tidbits...
By the way, Joe Perry's Brother owns a deli close to hear and we did see that Joe Perry's pictures are all signed and up on the deli wall=does that count?!!!lol
Last but not least....from Malcomb in the Middle, his dad owns a Mexican Rest not too far from here and there's a shrine of pictures of his son,
(the one with the big ears), I believe its Dewey? I like the mother in the show-I am not familiar with the boys/characters... he now goes to one of the local catholic schools around here with a friends son!

:cool1: we met Steven Tyler and Joe Perry at the 50's prime time diner.
OMG!!! I would pass out if I saw Steven Tyler in person...LOL. Did you get pictures? Autographs??? OMG!

A few years ago we saw Bruce Jenner walking through MK around marathon time. In January this year we saw Run from Run DMC (Joseph Simmons: brother of Russell Simmons) at AKL after he attended Trumps wedding. His wife was very nice and beautiful.
I would like to let Bruce Springsteen know that I will be in WDW in late Sept/ early October in case he would like to make an appearance, hey I'll buy dinner for us all. :cheer2:
