Famous People Own DVC?

And/(or?) 500 pts @ BCV (didn't find anything @ BWV) though Kelly and Joseph Fatone own 500 SSR points and a townhome in Windmere also.

Also didn't find Sean Hannity, Dennis Rodman, Jimmy/James or Eleanor Rosalynn, or Blagojevich for that matter.

Of course, just not finding the names is insufficient "evidence" - the issue could be as simple as the deed can be in a different name (relative, corp, LLC, etc).

I'm not saying any of the individuals listed do/don't own - just saying the names did not show up in an OC search.

Maybe these folks all sold them off when they started seeing things go downhill.

I guess it's all perception. I'm GLAD I don't have to suffer through Fox "News"'s propaganda while I'm on vacation. Their fantasy world and the Disney fantasy world are not a good match.
My guess is that the reason Disney does not carry it is that Rupert Murdoch probably wants too high a licensing fee.

Fox is a "News" channel? I didn't know that. Disney owns enough channels and media outlets of its own that it really doesn't need to contract with that Australian tax evader. :thumbsup2

Last May I saw Fat Joe at Kidani. My son was like who is that? Ok he is the one who played the Fat, Rapper Penguin in Happy Feet. Then he was like, Oh OK!:lmao:

Just remembered that we saw Holly Madison last September at Boma. Noticed her while we were waiting for our table, she really stood out. We eventually were seated right behind her and her companion. I didn't have a clue of who she was (still don't really) but my grown daughters certainly did. For all you other clueless people like me out there, she is one of Hugh Hefner's ex-girlfriends, a "Girl Next Door".

I can confirm that there are many celebs that own DVC- and yes, Favre + Joey Fatone are two of them. I actually Joey during check-in at one of the resorts- he waited in line like a regular guest and you wouldn't even know it was him!

There are also some politicians and international VIPs that own. There's a billionaire family from the middle east that has thousands of points and rents out blocks of the resort every year for their extended family and servants.

I would tend to say that "No" they don't own DVC and are probably paying cash. The reason I say this is because the main benefit for all of us being DVC members is to save money over the course of time on our vacations. Does anyone really think that Tom Cruise worries about saving thousands of dollars? Probably not.

Too many people seem to think famous &/or 'rich' folk are wasteful with their money. Of course there are DVC members of notable status, just as they may own a condo at a beach or in the mountains, perhaps they just want a go-to place in Disney to call theirs and to share with family & friends. It might be somewhat of a shock to realize that they're human just like you or me, they can also love Disney and they too know how to balance a bank account.

Some of the richest people I know are also the biggest tightwads.

Having spent most of my career dealing with people with a high net worth, and sometimes a bit of celebrity status, I can say many of them are like most of us, looking for a good value in whatever we purchase. So I would be surprised to find wealthy or famous people owning at DVC.

A Former "Miss America" from Oklahoma, parents are DVC members. She was in one of the issues of "Disney Files". I bet she spent many vacations at Disney.

Sort of a funny thread... :)

There's going to be a lot of folks who confuse people who look like famous people for the real thing (there a lot of those). The "I know a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who knows a guy, who saw Will Smith at the jacuzzi in BLT!!". Or the "Prince Ali (Fabulous he! Ali Ababwa) rents owns 15,000 points and rents the whole hotel every other year!".

This is how rumors & urban legends are born. Funny. :goodvibes

Also, someone should have defined "famous". Otherwise, the local weatherman could be considered for this list.

I'm famous in my own mind... does that count? ;)

Favre owns mega points at BWV's

I was told by Paul with Bell services that Brett owns at OKW also and usually showed up with his family after his NFL season was over. Paul has been on the OKW bell staff for years.

Friends just back from Kidani saw Dennis Rodman there. Don't know if he owns.

According to the OCC website Brett Favre owns, as follows

250 BCV points ($21,000) bought in Feb. 2003 (document #20030200897)

250 BCV points ($21,000) bought in Feb. 2003 (document #20030201895)

That is all that I can find... So, he doesn't own lots of BWV points, and no OKW points. HTH

Well, that makes it easy to split with the ex.

I bet there a lot of celebs that own DVC. Because of the type of environment, we treat DVC more like our homes and in such you can be much more anonymous plus they can get around much easier unseen then if they are staying in a hotel where they have maid service, have to eat out each meal, have a front desk, can't do their own wash and so on. It would make sense. Plus add this to the fact it is, for the most part, a secured environment they also have some level of protection from the outside world.

How do you know that one of the pseudonyms on this site isn't really Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, lurking for advice about picking a great CS restaurant before the parade? Trying to decide whether or not to use the meal plan? Bus or car? Is it okay to pool hop? Are refillable mugs worth it? :confused3 Tom and Katie need help, too!!

Hey, you never know who's really behind those names... :surfweb:

I don't know why I didn't consider that famous people would buy DVC, but I was at Kidani for the night last Thursday and Dennis Rodman was there. I am only guessing he was staying in the resort because his family changed clothes after dinner to swim (not a stalker - just happened to be in Sanaa at the same time and down at the pool with my family afterwards). It made me wonder if they stay more often on cash reservations or if they own and use points. Our waitress said that she has seen Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Celine Dion (?), George Lucas and more. So, do you think they are DVC members?

Dennis Rodman was staying there.. We saw him on April 28,29 and 30th besides the pictires and video some people staying with me decided to take with him...but he was nice about all.
For those DVC members who never get upgraded Thanks to Dennis and his clan I got a 2 BR sav. View instead of a stan. View

I don't know if she is a DVC member (I doubt it) but she is a Disney FREAK. She has a Haunted Mansion themed dining room. ( yes I watch her show)
