Family summer vacation suggestions for next year

DH & I are trying to decide our vacation for next summer. We have DVC and need to either book our trip next month, or figure out if we're doing something else. Our DDs will be 8 and 6. We've done Colorado in the summer and loved it. Other than that, we've been to the beach and Disney. We'd like to try something different but with things to keep them occupied as well. Also, we'd like to stay within the continental US. Anyone have any good vacation suggestions to try? Thanks!

I've done Chicago and Wisconsin Dells in the same trip. Also Colonial Williamsburg and Washington D.C. together another year. There is plenty in both places to keep young kids occupied. I've also been to Boston. Another great place.

I second both of those locations. My daughter spent a week last year in San Francisco with her Girl Scout troop. She really enjoyed going there.

Another suggestion would be Gatlinburg and the surrounding area. Or the San Antonio/Austin area.

San Diego, California is fun. The San Diego Zoo is fantastic. In addition, there is a Wild Animal Park, Sea World and Legoland. We took our son to San Diego when he was 12. He enjoyed it very much. Your daughters are a little younger than my son was, and I think that would be even better.
