family suite - worth it?

ok - so we're trying to figure out if we want to wing it in a regular 'hotel room' or upgrade and get the suite with the separate bedroom.

we have a toddler - who will be taking a midday nap (the reason we're staying onsite) - my predicament comes when the DH and I are just hanging out waiting on naptime to be over.

We wanted to stay at ASMo for Buzz and Woody - but ASMu is the only AS with suites.... How easy is it to 'visit' between the AS's?

I have a whole other thread on these 'photo shoots' i keep reading about...

I actually had my reservation for POP century. Last time we went, we were at Movies and it was enough room for me, fiance and our son. So i figured with the two queen beds and a crib, it would be enough to stay at POP with all 3 of our kids! Well, i decided that since i would like a bit more privacy(travelling w/17 yr old daughter) i upgraded to a family suite at Music! It makes more sense to me anyway. It has 2 bathrooms and a kitchenette. That way my youngest son(who will be 2) can be brought back during the day to nap and we can set up the crib in the main Bedroom so he can have more quiet.
I wouldn't be able to do that at POP. We never visited other hotels during our last stay but since i really wanted to check out POP i will do that this next time! Alot of people check out other resorts and stuff. The bus system is the easiest way to do that i would think!
As for the photo shoots, i dont have a clue! i would like to learn more about it myself!

Well, we didn't need a separate bedroom for the baby to nap because we ALL took a nap. Every day. We came back to the room by 1:00, shut off the lights and got in bed. Even my 9 and 4 year old fell asleep and they haven't napped since they were babies.

The next time we go, we will get the family suite, but it's also necessary for us because we are a family of 5 and our "baby" will turn 3 right before we go. I think the kitchen area would be nice for us as well. We ate most of our food in the room, but only had coolers and the little table in the regular room. The fridge, microwave, and counter definitely make the suite worth it for us. If you're on the dining plan, it might not be as big of a deal.

We stayed in one of the family suites in January and we LOVED it! We loved having seperate sleeping space, two bathrooms and the kitchenette. We have friends staying in in the family suites in November after hearing us rave about our experience.

We stayed there in Feb. and DH swears we'll never stay anywhere else (well, unless we can ever afford a deluxe suite, of course ) We loved everything about it: 2 bathrooms, 2 TVs, kitchen area, plenty of space to unpack, etc. It was great. The suites are also in the buildings closest to the lobby/food court/bus stop, so your walk is shorter, too.

My brother couldn't get a a room in Music, so he stayed in Movies while we were there. We cut across the parking lot one day to check out the Movies grounds and swim in the pool. It's a 5-min. walk, and you can see all the sights, swim, check out the food court, then go back to your spacious Music room!

We are staying in the suites in January. We decided it would be nice for napping. Our DD is (2 1/2). Also, nice to have 2 bathrooms and the little kitchenette. When I made the reservation the CM told me, he had just stayed in the ASMu suites with his family. He just raved about them.

We have stayed in the Family Suites twice. We loved it. Dh is a cheapskate but he now insists that if we go to WDW again, we will stay in a FS.
DD is a loud sleeper and a light sleeper. If we all had to sleep in the same room, no one would get any sleep.

We also really liked the kitchenette feature. We ordered breakfast and snack foods to be delivered. This made mornings a little easier in our room.

And it is quite easy to visit the other All Star resorts - they are all very close to each other. Both times we stayed (once in bldg 10 and once in bldg 9), there you could easily see ASMo from our room.

We stayed in a Family Suite last September and loved it! I loved having 2 bathrooms and the kitchenette was so great. It was also nice at nighttime when my kids were asleep, DH and I could watch tv in the other room without having to "tiptoe" or worry about disturbing anyone.
