Family Suite Pricing

I booked the suite for end of sept 09 for 5 nights. Will be me and my wife and three kids ages 6,6,8. We havent been to disneyworld, last time I went was as a kid. We took the kids on a disney cruise last year and we thought it was fantastic, which is what got us wanting to do WDW now. I was pretty heart set on the Coronado because it looked so beautiful and almost booked it but they ran out of Jr suites on our date, which was in our price range. So we would have to go with two standard joining rooms instead. Wife and I had hearts set on a cheap suite for a relaxation area and not feel to far from the kids which is why I am now planning the asmus suite. From the pics I see comparing the ASM and the CS the pool area is not as extravagant at the ASM, and the grounds arent either. And of course the theming is different. Is there anything huge we will be missing out on by not doing the adjoined rooms at the Coronado. Is the Coronado worth the extra $650 for two rooms vs a suite for less at the ASM? I dont want to cheat the family out of something they may be missing by not forking over a few more bills. I guess at ASM we still get to take advantage of magic hours, key to the world, room delivery of things bought at the park?
In a nutshell which one will the kids like better and for the extra money at the Coronado will the adults see much more to make you feel like it was worth spending the extra $650. If you stay at a Value can you still visit the other resorts like CB CS or Deluxe resorts pools and swim? And lastly if we go with the ASMU suite which floor is it best to be on? I should also say I went ahead today and booked the ASM suite for our date just to get something. But I am told by disney I can change that to something higher up at any time, so thats what has me thinking now. I want my kids to have the disney experience from the time we enter the motel room, till the time we depart it and head back home.
TIA!

We've stayed at all 3 levels of resorts (deluxe, moderate & value) and while the deluxe & mods are fancier & larger & all that, the values are just fine. I'd say save the $$$. How much time will you be spending at your resort -- if it's just to sleep & maybe take an afternoon swim break, the Value pools will do you just fine. If your family really, really wants a fancy pool experience, buy one day passes to one of the water parks and spend the day there instead of going to a theme park -- that'd cost you less than $650. All the resorts have nice landscaping (shrubbery, grass, flowers) - it's not like you'll be looking at a motel parking lot & acres of pavement at the Values. The pools at the Values are fun...no slides, but still fun, and they have various activities at different times (they'll post a schedule by the pool.) You cannot use pools at the other resorts (they actually check room cards at the best pools to make sure you're from that resort.) Your kids will like any level resort...they've got nothing to compare it to, do they?

Hi! Does anyone remember what they paid and what discount they used for Feb. this year for the Family Suites and ASMu? We're looking into next Feb. and wanted a little extra room as I think my sister may go with. Thanks!:cheer2:

Can't help you with Feb, but I can tell you I am staying at one for the first night of my Easter trip (April 4th) for $150 a night with an Expedia rate.

Expedia has the family suites for 130 a night. I was pricing for a June trip, if I don't get any codes from Disney. So that might be an idea.

Here's my 2 cents:rolleyes1 We have a family of 6 and I am looking at a cabin at Fort Wilderness. I went 10 years ago and we did little more than sleep at our room, so I would rather save the money on that and have more to spend IN the park.:cheer2:

We got the family suite through expedia for $120 a night!!:cool1: :cool1: You have to keep checking because the rates change a lot. We had to book one night separately because it wouldn't come up with the rest of our nights, but it came up alone.

There currently are no discounts offered on the AS suites, including AAA. The rack rate for Feb 2007 was $179 per night. With tax, it was $202.27 per night. I got a quote to stay there, but ended up with a split stay between POR and Fort Wilderness cabins.

I booked our Family Suite for Sept 18-27 and we got a 15% discount on the room through CAA

$4,319.04 for 9 nights, 3 adults and 3 kids with DDP and 7 day MYW passes.

Disney quote was $4,599.57 for the same time.
