Family Suite or two adjoining staterooms?

Hi all -

I'm just in the initial planning stages for a 7 day cruise in 2003. I have 3 children, who will be 14, 12 and 10 when we cruise. I can't decide between getting a family suite, which would have a verrandah, or 2 adjoining rooms, either a category 9 or 10. I know we would lose the view, but we would gain an extra bathroom.

The price difference is only $200 if we go for a category 9 or $700 for a category 10 - not really a tremendous amount but it all adds up.

Anyhow, if anyone has any opinions I certainly would appreciate them.

That's a tough call, Karista, I hate to give up the verandah but I think with kids your age you will want to have TWO staterooms. I would go with the Cat. 9s though, the porthole window is HUGE and it really makes a difference.

Another option you might consider if you are comfortable with your kids being across the hall would be to book a Cat. 6 with a verandah and a Cat. 11 across the hall. Technically it would be booked with one adult in each cabin but you would be able to put the older kids in there at night if you'd like. That way you would at least have one stateroom with a verandah.

Good luck deciding! :D
