It means it's a set menu of food that your server will bring to your table. You'll get a variety of food, and they will bring more to your table if you finish anything they bring you.
The dishes are brought in large platters, meant to be served "family style" at the table. It's like having a buffet, except all the offerings are served to you.
I don't know specifically about Garden Grill but usually family style means they bring you a large dish of a meal item and place it on your table. You then serve yourself and your family members -- sort of like you usually would do at home.
In other words it isn't a buffet, nor is it where each person is served their own prepared plate from the kitchen. Bucca di Beppo is a national chain that serves meals "family style".

You will get platters and bowls of food brought to your table for two, with enough food for the two of you. It's all you can eat, so you may ask for more of anything.

Whoops, I guess I didn't make myself clear, but goofygal531 explained it well.
You get a dish of food big enough to serve the party at your table, and you are able to request more of anything (meats, potatoes, sides) as you consume it.
Maybe you were thinking of the way Biergarten handles its seating? In that situation, it's a buffet, and it's communal seating, which means lots of long tables where multiple parties will sit next to each other. It's meant to mimic what a beer garden in Germany is like.
The only other restaurant where they'd seat a party of 2 with others is Teppan Edo. But even similar places like Benihana will do that.
Personally, I prefer Family Style to regular buffets, especially for character meals. It allows you to stay at your table the whole time, so you don't risk missing a character if you get up to refill your plate.
Also, in my experience the food is served fresher, as opposed to grabbing food from a buffet that could have been sitting there for a while.

I immediately thought of Biergarten too when she mentioned table size!
You're right on the communal seating restuarants. Just wanted to mention that there are other family-style meals besides Garden Grille. Whispering Canyon Cafe offers the all you can eat skillet, Akershus and Ohanas have the family-style character breakfasts. I think that's is?
