I know this is hokie but I want a day where we all wear the same shirts. I tried the gap & lands end. Need matching shirts for 9 month old girl, 4 year old boy 11 & 13 year old girls and myself & my husband. Any cool ideas out there??

There is a whole thread about making your own shirts. It is really neat. I am not really sure where it is. You could do a search. You will love looking at it. :cool1:

My family is hokie, too. We have a big group going and we decided to purchase the Disney logo shirts at disneyshopping. They come in bright colors, so each family picked a color. It also helps to find family members. My brother ordered a shirt for each day. We have a seventh month old. My friend suggested getting the youth XXS, and then have someone sew buttons on the bottom to make it like an onesie.
My husband wants to get our names put on the back. Hope that helps! Plus the shirts were cheap that is another reason we got those. See Mousesavers for coupon codes...

Hi

I have done these for a couple of people, bought plain tshirts and I have a embroidery machine and personalise them.

Go to disneyshopping, you can either order matching logo shirts or they have a make your own section, that's what my family did, you can put your own phrases/year/last name, what ever you want.

For our last trip, I had us all wear the same color shirts each day. So many cm's made comments about how "together" we all looked.

Well, I hadn't found out about the Disboards long before that trip, so I didn't really have time to explore. For the planning of this next trip, I've been on the Disboards A LOT! I found out about the Creative Designs board...and that has started things rolling. Now, we're having a theme every single day!!

If you'd like to become overwhelmed...go to the main "The DIS Discussion Forums", and scan all the way down to the "just for fun" section. Look for Creative Designs...I'm pretty sure that's what it is called. There is a thread there called the design gallery. You will find TONS of awesome t-shirt ideas! Most of the designers will custom design for you and your family. If you are into designing on your own, they can help you get started (which is extremely addicting.......I design now instead of doing housework LOL).

We're having family themes for the kids birthdays (celebrating all on one day), MNSSHP, there is a wonderful Mickey head design that you make with bleach that I can't wait to try, tie dye Mickey's, tons and tons of iron on t-shirts.

Anyway...go visit and see if you can find something you like.

If you are up for making your own, there are some really awesome ones I made that I got off the boards. Use wax thread and sew an outline of mickey head and ears. Pull it tight and then tie dye the shirt. The ears come out. It really works. Last year we wore them and some guy gave us his fast passes he couldn't use because of our shirts. We got a lot of comments. I also tie dyed shirts red and downloaded the incredible family. I printed it on tshirt paper and ironed them onto the shirts. We got special preferece at Ro n RoCo. We got to pick out "car" spot. The CM's love this stuff. I think it breaks up their day. Have fun whatever you do. :wizard:

Our family trips are always about 8 days & we have matching shirts for each day of our trip.

We've ordered many from Disneyshopping.com -- we just received 2 matching sets last week.

We got the new lime logo t-shirt & also got it in turquoise.

We also ordered a set of the "design your own tees" -- we had Lilo & Stitch put on them with "ALOHA" printed underneath.

I just finished making the "MICKEY SWIRL HEAD SHIRTS" that can be found on the CREATIVE DISigns forum..take a look there...the thread is on the 1st page--then, Post #2 on that thread has a link to a picture of the shirts, & directions.

Mine came out exactly like the picture!!! TERRIFIC!!

I'm going to use the design your own T-shirt at Disneyshopping.com if I can find a design everyone will agree on!

We did the same thing. Before the first day my dh thought I was crazy to have bought matching shirts (got a killer deal at disneyshopping.com last summer for $3 each). But after he realized how easy it was to keep track of the kids and how much attention CM's were paying to us about us matching, he was sold and told me several times what a good idea it had been.

Here we are on various days...makes pictures so much better, I think!

We also had red, but I don't have them uploaded yet.

Thank you all for the great ideas! I think I will try the disney ink shop to design our own shirts. If I had the time or energy I would love to do the tie-dye or the swirl shirts, they look so cool & I would have control over the quality of the shirts. Thanks again!

Just a word of caution, you should never put your childs name on a
t-shirt. Predators use this as an opportunity to gain your childs trust. Sorry, after being a cop for 10 years, I worry about these things.

Great thread! At first I wasn't sure if I could get DH to go for this, but then I remembered that last year when we went *he* went out (on his own without my knowing!) and bought us all matching shirts for the fourth of July :) so maybe he'd be up for this...

Anything that a preditor could use to gain your childs trust should be off limits. Even on school backpacks! I don't want to alarm people, but this can and has happened. Better safe with your kids than sorry. Maybe if your kids were of an age that you can explain to them about the name being on the shirt, it would be ok.

At age 8 and 10, do you think names on shirts are still a problem? Sorry, but as an aunt, I'm not as sure about these things as a mother may be. I was planning on having some shirts made up for my DNiece and DNephew before the trip, but don't want to cause any problems. Also, their Mickey ears have their names stiched on the back.

Any thoughts are really appreciated.

I don't want to worry anyone, if you think your kids are old enough just talk to them and explain. Just because someone knows your name they may not be someone to trust. Everyone should always have a code word, that only their family knows. And if someone tries to have your child go somewhere with them and that person does not know what the code word is, then your child will know it is not safe and to get away from that person. Hope this helps.
