We got up fairly early(although not as early as I would have liked) We were able to make it to the MK by 9:30. I learned that when traveling with a large group, you have to just get up and get going and make a plan to meet the rest of the party later if they aren't ready in the morning. We were able to go on splash mountain, IASW, and haunted mansion. We left left the park about 1p.m. to go back to the resort for a break. (Didn't get on as many rides as we would have liked but we weren't bothered by it. We felt it was better to avoid commando touring)
Got to resort and got ready to go for a swim. Just as we were about to leave for the pool there was a knock on the door. I opened it to find a gentleman standing there with 2 cakes(they knew there were 12 in our party), balloons and a card. Just when I figured they had overlooked my dd's b-day there was the pixie dust! My dd was thrilled! "How did they know it was my birthday?" (I didn't bother to tell her that I told them when we checked in). After our b-day celebration, off to the pool we went.
We were at the Poly a little more than a year ago and really enjoyed it. Well, the addition of the pool is amazing! Everyone enjoyed it and several in the party said they thought it was better than storm-along-bay. There were lots of people in the pool but there always seemed to be plenty of room to swim. No one felt crowded and there were plenty of lounge chairs.
After the swim we decided to head for Epcot! Just as we got there though, there was a thunder and lightening storm with major rain. We just pulled out the ponchos we brought from home and went on with our plan. We started through the countries and stopped in Germany for dinner at the Biergarten(sp?) We spent a good deal of time in there enjoying the atmosphere. Even the kids had a good time. The little screamer was dancing to the music and only screamed 1/2 the time we were there. Headed out of Epcot(we knew we would make several more trips there on different days)and returned to the resort about 11p.m. We were planning to go to MGM in the morning and wanted to be there when it opened so we knew a good nights sleep was what we all needed!
