Family Points

If we have points and another member of the family also has their own points at the same resort, can you combine points to make reservations? From what I understand a point transfer would be the only way to accomplish this. Is this accurate or are there other options available to do this without using your only point transfer allowance for the year?

you can make a reservation for some of the nights and your family member can make a reservation for the remaining nights and (i think) ask MS to link them.

you just would not be able to combine points to book a single night.

We just made reservations with a friend having the first night on their points and we have the second night on our points. We were able to do a three way call to make sure we were linked but if you get the other member's confirmation number you shouldn't have a problem linking them.

Yup--just link them. It's easier and you won't use up your 1-time/year transfer.

By linking is it one reservation number or 2 reservations? And if you are sharing a room switches correct?
