Family of 6 stay in pop???

Hello all! So, I am too cheap to get two rooms or one of the more expensive suites. Could we stay at the pop with 2 kids sleeping on the floor without getting into big trouble?

I usually back out of these thread as it'll probably get locked, but since it's late at night, and I'm assuming this is a ligit question, I'll give you an true answer.

Could you do it probably yes, is it allowed NO. Could you get in trouble, I truly don't know, but do you really want to put your kids in that situation if you were to be called out on it.

Aside from anything else there would hardly be enough floor room for two on the floor and before you even think it's actually doable, I suggest you pick one of your kids rooms (the smallest room) and everyone sleep in it for X nights the same nights as your trip. I guarantee before night 3 is up, you'll be booking 2 rooms.

If price is really a problem, then you need to find an offsite hotel that will let you all sleep comfortable. If it's just that your, I won't say cheap but not trying to be thrifty, if you really want to stay onsite you'll need two All Star Rooms, or go for the family suit.

try fw cabins! i am cheap I admit it, but the cabins are big(sleeps 6) and you have a full kitchen. We save so much on food that when you break everything down its cheaper than 2 rooms at a value or even the new value suites, because the value suites dont have the full kitchen. Sometimes you can even get a great rate on them. I ended up only getting a AAA rate of $279 a night bummer, but better than rack i guess. But with 4 kids(3 teens that can eat a lot) the dining plan to us is not worth it. i have stayed 5 at the all stars, 1 was under 3 in a crib, and it was awful!! they are very small. there is no way you would want to sleep 2 on the floor. its hard enough to fit 4 in the beds. if you are looking really cheap stay offsite like the previos poster said you can get a good deal on some decent looking hotels, butpersonally to me its not worth it to stay offsite. I would save another year and stay onsite instead.Good luck

those rooms are way too small for that even if you dont get caught! Go to vrbo.com and stay in an offsite condo. Much cheaper & plenty of room. Also, if you are planning on using EE not everyone would have a room key to be able to participate.

It's definitely not permitted. Each room has a capacity limit that guest are obligated to comply with. I agree with tinkerjo: Save up another year so you can afford appropriate accommodations for your trip.

Is your youngest under 3? If so, I believe you can legitimately stay in one of the 5 person rooms at POR (a moderate). Otherwise, unless you are willing to get two rooms or a suite (one of the all stars has these now), offsite might be your answer.

Good Luck! I guess I am the only differing opinion, but I worked front desk in Vegas for many years and tons of people do it and never once was anyone caught. Nor did we really care! Perhaps Disney will care, but I think you would be fine. Now I will say that I only think you should do it if your kids are really young.

My good friend has a DD6, DD5, DD4, and DD3. Do I think she should split and get two rooms, nope! Do I think she should wait another year just so she can afford a suite, nope! Do I think she should sacrifice and stay offsite, no way! But if she had 4 teenagers, I would feel a little different. Maybe a double standard but it's how I feel!

I agree that it would not be comfortable. Think about how crabby kids get when they are tired. Everyone needs a proper bed to sleep in.

Plus, when you check in you have to give everyones names for the hotel ID cards. Even the kids get their own ID cards. I didn't think my kids would be needing them for anything and when we tried to get bracelets for EMH we were refused because I didn't have the cards(on me) for the kids.

Now that is true and that would be the reason that I would not do it! But if that didn't matter to you or you wouldn't use that perk, then it wouldn't matter.

You have a few obsticles, not the least of which is WDW occupancy policy at the values. 4 max and a child 2 or under so you will have to omit two people when making the reservation.

Then, you won't get an ID for more than 4 of you, this lmiits your use of EMH's.

Lastly, the value rooms IMHO are tiny! I can't imagine where two kids would sleep on the floor. IIRC the rooms are about 214 square feet and that includes the bathroom!

So I don't know if you will get into trouble with WDW, but 6 people in a value would spell trouble for me! If one of your kids is still crib age then look into the moderate POR, not that much more than a value and sleeps 5 + a child 2 and under in a PnP. You will pay a bit more but get a pool with a slide, boat to dtd, wonderful grounds and maybe peice of mind.

Otherwise you are looking at two rooms, Value Suites, FW Cabins or a deluxe to "legally" accomodate your family.

Hope you find something that works for you family and your budget.

Aside from EMH, it's my understanding that hotel ID's are to carried at all times and could be asked for anywhere even the pool. So, you have to check the kids in at the front desk.

Since you can't have six in a value resort, could you wait until you had the money to get a value suite?

I might be wrong on this so please correct me if you know but I think it is against the fire codes to have more than the maximum number of people in the room. As far as being able to afford it- the OP said they were too cheap to get a bigger room, not that they couldn't afford it. I can totally understand not wanting to get a second room or a suite but you will welcome the extra room.

I think there may be some off site hotels that sleep 6. I may be wrong, but I thought Amerisuites slept six and they have a free breakfast.

Maybe if you go on the Orlando Resorts/hotels board they can direct you to a place for a good price that sleeps six.

Doubletree Guest Suites sleeps 6 if you want to stay in a DTD hotel. We stayed there once for a few days. It wasn't bad. It sure would beat cramming six in a value.

The advice I give will depend on you having a rental car, but my suggestion is to join skyauction, and bid on a Ready, Set, Go auction to use for a 2 or 3 bdrm condo offsite. We are planning our 3rd stay through skyauction. Each time, we paid a grand total of $262. for a 2 bdrm condo FOR THE ENTIRE WEEK! We stay at a different place each time (but only because the place we stayed the first time, Cypress Point Grand Villas) has become so popular that it doesn't show up on the inventory anymore. Each unit was nicely decorated, well kept, and had full kitchen, 2 bathrooms, and a washer/dryer.

$262 for the entire week, would more than offset the cost of a rental vehicle, and being able to use that vehicle to get groceries for breakfasts/snacks and drinks for the condo, as well as being able to dine at some of the really inexpensive offsite restaurants, it would pay for itself anyway.

I wouldn't be caught dead at a value resort with my family of four, let alone 6! You can't put a pricetag on everybody being getting a good night's sleep, and saving your sanity!

Amen! We are doing a 2BR villa in February, just because we're two couples this time around.

No, you can't have 6 people in a value resort room.

1. It's against Disney's rules. Why break them and risk getting caught and ruin the vacation for the kids?
2. They say four to a room for a reason (fire codes and comfort level)
3. When you call to make your reservation they'll deny you as soon as you start to list the 5th person on the reservation. Each guest gets their own Key to the World card, which you need for Extra Magic Hours. How are you going to explain to Little Billy and Little Susie that the rest of the family has to leave them behind?

Don't do it. Don't risk it. Get two full value rooms, get a value suite (which are a great deal!) or a cabin at Fort Wilderness. If one child is under 3, look into POR in the Alligator Bayou section to get a trundle bed and a pack and play. If these options don't work, then check into an off site hotel.
