We are so excited to be taking our first trip to Disneyland in March! :cheer2: We are a family of 6, so we need the space of a suite. For about the same price, we can stay at the Desert Inn & Suites or one of several Good Neighbor Hotels. The closest looks like Portofino, Residence Inn or La Quinta. Is the Desert Inn a better choice based on location (across the street from the entrance) or is it worth the Good Neighbor package benefits (early entry, prefered seating) to stay a little further away? Is one much nicer than the others? Thanks for any help!! :wave2:

I have stayed several times at the Desert Inn and it used to be a Good Neighbor Hotel, I am surprised it isn't showing as one anymore. It's a great hotel-great price, gi-normous rooms, (pool and hot tub and breakfast aren't great) but the location is SOOO worth it! I highly recommend one of the spa tub rooms-it's an actual spa not a tub!! Could fit 4 easily. Easy way to bypass the cold pool, LOL. If it truly is no longer a Good Neighbor Hotel, then I would make a pro and con list and find out what is truly the most important things to you:
Size of room
Location, location, location
Cost
Early Entry
Etc.

Best of luck to you, we will be at the Desert Inn 2/10-2/14 (IF the DLH doesn't offer their AP rates, that is!).

This is probably my fifth post about the Desert Inn & Suites--we thought it was great! It ain't the Ritz, but we found our C-2 suite to be clean, comfortable and CLOSE! Think of somewhere around the Comfort Inn level of hotel--not fancy, but not scary.

They claim to be a Good Neighbor Hotel, but there is some discrepancy there. I don't understand. :confused3 Their website and signage certainly indicated that status. Since I didn't book a package, I can't help you on that front. You might call them and ask.

We had four adults and one five year-old in a C-2 suite. That's the one with two full baths.

FWIW, we'd stay there again. PM me if you want more details.

Happy Planning!

I was stumped at to why this wasnt listed. I think, but i am not sure, it is listed as the anaheim inn on the disneyland website because the hotel itself is the desert anaheim inn. i checked out the map and it seemed like it was in the same spot. i might be wrong but it seems logical.

Our family of six was very happy at the Best Western Park Place Inn this summer. The room was clean and comfortable with a larger refrigerator. Continental breakfast was OK. The most attractive feature is location, location, location!
