Family of 6 budget trip again...for the 7th time

I understand your car rental dilemma. The cheapest rate we could find on a minivan (driving from Louisiana) was about $660. This was a rate through AARP (yay dad! ) It is a Chevy Uplander with unlimited mileage for 12 days. I hope youre able to find a better deal!

Can you stay at a Value for around $1000? Then you wouldn't need a car rental. Just use Magical Express? Save on parking too. I would think staying on property, run the numbers and see if it's cheaper. You can do cheap eating too. We only eat out once a day and it's usually counter service. DTD has a McDonalds that we visit frequently.
I understand the budget situation. We are driving this year because I can't afford to fly.

I would check on Windsor Hills homes. Some of the owners there have great deals and offer discounts for those staying that many nights. I'm sure I've seen some for around that with that many nights.

That would be nice to have your own pool. My mom's friend stayed at a place down there, but had to pay extra to use the pool. I thought it was a little strange, since the pool is part of the property. Anyway, keep us all updated on your trip

did you try Airtran.... we are flying out of Rocherster for $164 each.... direct flights for our trip in May.... also trying to keep it budget friendly!!!
