Family of 5

I have the Beach Club booked for a family of 4, but now my step-daughter may be coming with us (which is good). Do you think it would be too crowded for a family of 5 to share a room? If so, what hotel do you suggest that won't cost too much. It will be for myself, DH, DD12,DD15,& DD21.

IMHO I would find it too crowded. I would get two rooms at another resort if possible. It makes it so much easier getting ready in the morning. We had two rooms at CSR last year and it worked out perfectly. If you must share one room, I would go with the Contemporary or Polynesian as they have Day Beds and are the largest rooms on property. Not all rooms at the Beach Club have day beds.

You could check availibilty of the Fort Wilderness Homes, they sleep 6. Bedroom has a double and 2 bunks. Living room has a very comfortable Murphy pull down, not a sofa bed.

I think with the ages of all going it definately would be too crowded. When are you going, because if it is this summer you might want to check what is available before getting your heart set on a different resort only to find it is sold out....

We are going in Feb. 2006. I was afraid it might be too crowded. Bummer. I had my heart set on BC after all the great reviews. Thanks for the reply

I never thought to look into a cabin. Sounds like a good idea.

As a DVC member I highly recommend doing it this way. You could stay at the BC for a cost of approx. $3140 to $3500 for 7 nights in a 2 bdrm villa depending on the days in Feb 2006 you choose. There are only a limited number of 2 bdrms so you would have to start trying to make arrangements now.

Seems like a lot of young adults for one bathroom! But if you can make do with one bathroom and you want to be over by Epcot you might think about a deluxe room ("junior suite") at BWI. They have 2 queens plus a full-size pull out couch. And you'd get a little more space for eveyone. And I think all the deluxe rooms at BWI are concierge so you could save a little on breakfasts and snacks.

I think with those ages you will DEF want not only more space BUT 2 bathrooms at least. When we were teenagers, we stayed in connecting rooms at CBR and it was so nice to have 2 tvs and 2 bathrooms, esp when someone wanted to sleep in, nap, or got sick (seemed to happen every vacation!)

I think renting points for a villa would be a GREAT idea and give you all more space, plus the luxury of the kitchen and such. Or you could do 2 standard rooms.

If you have five in the room, they will have to give you a daybed.

Also, since they are older, esp. the one, they may keep a different schedule, and therefore it may be easier to all live together.

For example, you and your SO may get up and out early and the older person may sleep in. So the chances of you all moving around the room at the same time are slim.

i have 6. to cut costs and have a huge place we are staying at a 4 bedroom home windsor palms 3 miles away with our own pool spa and community pool, game room, movie theatre ect.... only for 125 a night. try vrbo.com

i'm paying 800 for a 4 bedroom home within 3 miles away at windsor palms in june. pool spa. i can't imagine spending that much to stay at disney. i guess if you have money to burn thats fine. we don't.

Alot of the BC rooms have daybeds, so the 5 of you could be in there. They have the beach area and you guys might be on different schedules so maybe the 1 bathroom won't be a problem. I have stayed in BC with 3 kids (much younger though)and have loved it!!

Well, she is already has a room at YC/BC which would run about $2200 or more for the week. If she rented a house then she would have to get a rental car if she doesn't have one. With the ages of the kids 12, 15, 21 it would much easier and fun if the kids could come and go as they please, if they were off site they would need to travel as a pack. Any EMH days or nights (teens really like EMH nights) would not be an option. If the cost of renting a villa is too much then I highly suggest getting 2 rooms at a moderate or value resort. I would much rather stay onsite and have the convience that goes along with it with teens then staying offsite.

And she sounded like she wanted to stay in the YC/BC resort. If you don't have money to burn that's fine but the OP didn't say that money was a constrant so I suggested the best alternative to one room for 5 people at YC/BC.
