Yes...you will need to register 1 adult in each room, but you can change who is actually in the room when you get there, depending on the ages of your kids. Some hotels have connecting rooms, some don't, and they won't gaurantee which you will get. We like having 2 rooms - more space and extra bathroom make for a more relaxed vacation
We've always gotten 2 rooms (we've been on 4 ABD's). In Germany, 2 of the hotels, we had connecting rooms. In a few hotels, our kids had an enormous room and we had a regular room. In Spain (no longer an option) and South Africa, there were no connecting rooms for us. Our oldest was 13 when we split into 2 rooms on an ABD. We had done the same on cruises since she was eleven. Once you do it, you will never want to go back to one room for the 5 of you (although we sometimes do)
The good thing is, it's not like a cruise where you pay per room. The charges for an ABD are per person, so it's not going to cost you extra to book 2 rooms.
They'd still get that for one of the rooms, wouldn't they? Is the discount just for the 3rd person, or do all 3 people get it? Do they get a discount for the 4th & 5th person, too?
We booked China for this summer. The reservation with 3 people, cost $100 per person less than the reservation with 2 people. We've always gotten something like that.
