Disney World newbie! We are planning our first trip and are considering booking 2 rooms at a value resort. I believe that I could book the dining plan for only 1 room, but would we still be able to get adjoining rooms? How do you suggest we go about doing this? We have 3 kids but they are all Disney 'adults'. We would like connecting rooms so the kids can share one side and we would share the other. If we only do the dining plan for one of the rooms, am I able to book them on all on the same reservation for fast passes or would I have to manage them separately. Any advice is appreciated! Thank you :)

I have three Disney "adult" kids. They are currently 10, 11, and 14. We always share one room. I recommend one at the beach club or POR. POR is a favorite of my kids, nobody minded the smaller bed that pulls down.

Our new favorite is the beach club. The couch converts to a twin, mattress is great.

The cost would probably be cheaper for one POR over two value, or about the same for beach club (and the pool area is outstanding)

I believe you can book each room separately in terms of dining plan, but have the reservations linked so that you can get an adjoining room (based on availability).

As far as FP+ is concerned, you don't even have to be on the same reservation to manage other people's FP+, the accounts just have to be linked and the other account authorizes you to manage FP+ for them. (This works well for larger groups, but can be used for a single family, too.)

Adjoining means close proximity but doesn't necessarily mean same floor, but should be same building.
Connecting means a door in between two rooms.
Disney does not guarantee you will get either, it's merely a request.
Be prepared with a plan.

Dining Plan has nothing to do with FP+ so there is no conflict.
