We are a family of 5 who will be at DLP for only one night in July. It will be me, DH, DD (18), DS (14) and DD (6). We were hoping to stay at the Santa Fe, but it seems like there are either no rooms for 5 or just no availability. It's giving me a choice of the Newport (which is 888 Euros which seems nuts) or Davy Crockett which would be 664 euros.

We won't have a car, so my first question, is is there ANY transportation available from Davy Crockett? (even a taxi) Also, do we get early entry at both? If not, would it be better to stay off site? We would probably get there close to opening on a Thursday and leave on Friday around 3 or so.

Thank you in advance for the help! I appreciate it!!

offsite but nearby you have much more choice for a family of 5 (with free shuttle to the parks/cheap local trains from val d'europe or bussy st george).

You need to factor in the cost of 2 days park tickets each - those will run to around 90 euros each or more. If you stay at the NBC or Davy Crockatt ranch those park tickets are included in the price.

You get early entry at both the NBC and Davy Crockatts. There is no public transport from Davy Crockatts to the parks I'm afraid, you'd be relying on a taxi (possibly in the region of around 20 euros plus per journey, as its a 15-minute drive away).

If you want to have a look at whats available offsite but nearby, put in Disneyland Paris for your group of 5 on expedia, alpharooms, ebookers, hotels.com etc, see what comes up :).

also - have a look at the price for the NBC or Davy Crockatts on the French or Irish site too, to compare with what you're seeing on the UK site (they are all doing different discount offers at the moment).

Thanks for the great advice so far. Those prices were from the .fr site. We are in the US, but I'll have to check the other countries sites as well. Thanks for the suggestion.

Is it worth staying on property to get early entry that one morning? I know it won't be much time overall, so I wanted to maximize it (it is summer, so I know there will be crowds) but I didn't know if the one hour extra would really be worth all the extra money we would be paying to stay on site. Any advice about that?

Thanks!

its 2 hours extra - from 8am to 10am - but to be honest, with the ages of your party, no, i personally don't think its worth it, if the price difference between onsite and offsite is large.
