We are going to disney in November without the dining plan. I would like to choose just a few restaurants to eat at (kids ages are DS17, DD10 and DD3) What are some places that are great and shouldn't be missed? Thanks

Our favs are Sci-Fi for the theming; Biergarten for the entertainment; Chef Mickey's breakfast for the characters; and Ohana. We like the food at all of them. :)

Some of our favorites are: Crystal Palace (MK) for breakfast, Biergarten or LeCellier (Epcot) for lunch, Plaza Restaurant (MK) for lunch or dinner (small ice cream type parlor with great burgers, salads, club and reuben sandwiches, shakes and sundaes), Mama Melrose (HS) for lunch or dinner. We have not done any table service at Animal Kingdom--we are trying Yak & Yeti this year, but we love Flame Tree Barbecue for counter service. Also, we are trying Whispering Canyon at the Wilderness Lodge as we hear it is great fun.

My vote would be for Crystal Palace breakfast and Hoop-Dee-Doo Revue too! We loved both. Another that I have heard great things about it Ohana. We haven't eaten there yet, but are looking forward to it in September. Oh and we also really liked Yak & Yeti in AK! Good luck!

Here are my recommendations:

Boma This is my favorite restaurant on Disney Property. A lot of the food has exotic names but it is very good and there is plenty of standard food for picky eaters.

Ohana I would recommend the character breakfast here. The view is wonderful and it is a great place to have breakfast and then get to MK early.

San Angel Inn The atmosphere in here is wonderful. It feels like you are eating outside in a market in Mexico.

Restaurant Marrakesh Great food and nice atmosphere.

We really like:

Marrakesh in Morroco
Ohana for breakfast
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theatre
Akershus in Norway

Can be done elsewhere, but still really cool....
Planet Hollywood
Rainforest Cafe

Ohana....character breakfast
Prime Time....supper
HDDR....supper
Coral Reef...excellent food and great atmosphere!:)

overall:
Boma- for dinner handsdown best buffet and also best restaurant.
Narcoosee's- best expensive, fresh seafood, great view of fireworks, and a SHORT monorail ride back to MK.
Runner's up:
All u can eat: Ohana and Whispering canyon Cafe. Best price is Trail's End in Ft. Wilderness.
Expensive- Jiko and Turf Club
Table Service: Flame Tree BBQ, Pizza Planet, Cosmic Ray's, Harbour House, Sunshine Seasons, and Mara at AKL.

Epcot: Marrakesh, Chefs de France, Le Cellier for Table; any of the Counter Service eateries based on what kind of food you like (except China; pretty much the same food you can get around the corner but more expensive)

Breakfast: Bring Bagels or Pop Tarts and have a cup of coffee or juice while waiting for the Bus! Everything else wastes prime time unless you are a REALLY early bird! If u have to, then a Character Bfast at AK or O'hana or chef Mickey's. The Mikey waffles are a must though.

We are trying Biergarten and Ohana for sure this year, because I think the whole family will enjoy. We loved Whispering Canyon Cafe! Coral Reef and 50's Primetime are fun too. You have a wide range of ages in your children and I think all of them would enjoy these. I'm sure your little one would like a character meal, I haven't been to Chef Mickey's but we are trying it this year because it sounds like a lot of fun.

Definitely do the 50's Prime Time Cafe at Hollywood Studios - the kids will absolutely love the atmosphere (and the food is really good too!). If you want buffet - I'd recommend the Crystal Palace as there is something for everyone there. DH and I liked the Biergarten in Epcot, but the kids refuse to go back.

Just tried Yak & Yeti in December and I would recommend that one too. Never had fried green beans before and they were delicious!

This is all making me wish I was back at Disney instead of sitting behind a desk.
