We just booked a last minute cruise for March. I've requested a small table (seats 4) Late Seating . We're a family of three. Although I sometimes enjoy meeting new people at dinner, this time, we'd like to be by ourselves. I have a few questions:

Will there be another person at our table?

Do that many people travel by themselves on a Disney cruise?

I can't imagine anyone would want to sit with us, but I could be wrong. Has anyone ever had this situation?

I'm not sure if they would place a single person at your table or not, but you can request that you have a table to yourselves. Just call your TA or DCL (you don't say how you booked it) and have them put the request in for you.

We have done this for our next two cruises. While we did enjoy sitting with another family on our first cruise, we are just more comfortable being by ourselves and not worrying about making small talk.

I hope this helps you with your question.

We, too, are a family of three. While we do not eat at the restaurants during the evening meal, we do at lunch and have never had a single person sit with us at our table for four. We never asked for it that way but there was always more room available at lunch. Sometimes, as you said, you just don't feel like making small talk.

You might want to consider eating at Palo's one or more evenings. No problem there. You always have a table to yourselves.

Bon Voyage and happy dining!

Any other advice or experiences?:D

Hi budwmn,

We requested our own table of 3 through DCL website only a few days prior to departure. DCL was very quick to reply and they gave us a table for 4. We had the table to ourselves and did not have to share it with anyone. Although we sat by ourselves, we did share our servers with a large table of 15 people. I found that sometimes our table did not get as quick service as the other table. (ie DH had to ask to get his/my drink refilled, our orders were taken after the larger table.)

Thanks for your help. I would gladly give up a little quality in my service for our own table. I hope it works out.

DCL will certainly seat a family of 3 at a table for 4. DD and I have frequently had a table for 4 to ourselves. FIrst, call DCL and let them know your preference. Secondly, when you get on the ship, go to "dining changes" and make sure that you got what you wanted. Alternatively, you can wait till the first dinner and ask to be re-located if you didn't get a table for yourselves, but I find it better to ask up front.

At lunch or breakfast, seating is "open," so if you want a table for 4, just tell the head server at the door.
