Hi!

My parents are DVC members and we all live in the same household. I wanted to purchase a DVC gold AP for myself however when I go to pick it up, my parents will not be with me.

Would I be able to pick it up with my mom's membership card and my driver's license?

Thanks!

My understanding is no, your mother needs to pick it up.

Not necessarily true. My daughter needed to pick up her AP without me so I called DVC. They talked to Disney ticketing and got a special number(I forget what it is called now) and said she needed a copy of my member card and her ID. She had no issues.

They may have violated their own policy but I wouldn't count on it. Based on this info, mother should call MS to see if she can make the same arrangements.

I agree that her best option is to call MS. I have seen others post this same issue and were able to get APs just like my daughter.

I'd call or email, I'm sure something can be worked out. An email might even be better if it gives a positive answer because you'd have that to show. I'd also ask them to send the member card and something showing the same address like your Drivers License as well as a copy of the policy info for documentation.

I will have my mom email member services and find out. I guess if worse came to worse, I would just pay for the regular AP, which I am prepared to do. Thanks for the help.

One of my kids and family are moving back in with DW and myself for a "short time". I was thinking about getting AP for them using the DVC discount since now they are back at my address. The problem is they may not have the address on their driver's licences changed prior to us going to the World.

Am I just out of luck applying the discount to those APs ?

That's a tough one. Will they have anything else like a bank statement that has your address on it? I had a problem sort of like this with my DD. I am the DVC member and live in FL, she goes to school in FL but still has an Iowa driver's license with her dad's address on it. She does have mail that comes to my address since she spends most of her time away from college here at my house. I called DVC about this when it was time to renew her AP and they said I could bring a bank statement with her name and my address on it, along with her DL and it would work. We had no problem renewing the AP.

Do they have anything from before that was at that address? I'd ask this of Member Services to see what you can get by with.

I'm in the same situation. DVC member services told me to bring a photocopy of one of my parents drivers license, DVC member card, and that was it! Theres some confirmation number too attached to the ticket that needs to be brought, but thats to be expected.

Same for me and DS, when DH was injured and couldn't leave the room.

I have spoken to MS today about the situation. The person I spoke to stated that as long as I (member) am with my family (some non-members) and have my membership card and ID, there will be no issues in trading the voucher for the AP.

What another MS would tell me or what would actually happen when the time comes, who knows ?
