Would the Family Magic Tour be good for a child's first day at the magic kingdom?

If it was a longer trip than maybe at the end, but first day, first trip, I think better not.

We did it a few weeks ago, and the kids needed to have a decent knowledge of the Magic Kingdom, as it was essentially a treasure hunt. If you don't know where you're going, it won't be much fun as yoi won't know where the clues will be.

For those who have done it recently, did you get to ride a ride as part of it? I've read a ton of old reviews, but nothing recent. We are doing it in March.

We did it last April with our kids that have been to MK a few times. Yes, you do a ride, but it doesn't seem like the tour always does the same ride each day, or at least we went on a different ride than some of the reviews that I read beforehand. You also do a couple of meet and greets. Overall we really enjoyed it and I would recommend it (except feeling maybe it was 15-20 minutes too long?), but I agree with the previous posters - if it's your child's first time in the MK, there's just so much to take in and so much excitement, it might be tough to focus on a tour!
