If you have participated in this scavenger-hunt-styled tour, can you give me a little more information on the age for which it is best suited? WDW website says ideal for ages 4 to 10. Our girls are 10 and 12, so I'm a little nervous that it might be so simple/elementary that it would not interest them, especially if most of the group is a few years younger. I think they would really enjoy the concept of a scavenger hunt...but just not sure about this particular tour. Thanks!

would love to see some info too. We have a 4 DD and 6 DS will almost be 5 and 7 on our next trip. Have thought about doing something different but feel they may be a bit too young to fully get it.

I went with 2 adults, as we've made a point of doing every single disney tour available. I'd say in the 10-12 range would be on the outside of the ideal age group. Really, 6-8 is the sweet spot. If your kids are super joiners, and can have fun anywhere, this is a blast. Heck, I had fun. And, if you want some pretty cool pictures with (it changes, but we got peter pan and wendy) characters, and you want a 'free' fast pass to the pooh ride, this is a good tour. I can't remember if this was the tour that got us in to see mickey or not, but it might have been.

Basically, the tour guide reads off clues, and the kids solve the mystery. It ranges from simple things like "where does cinderella live?" To trying to find walt's statue. It also had a puzzle (as in pieces of a puzzle) in it, and the kids all did that. The guide was very good about getting the kids to break up the work to what is appropriate by age level, and to spread it around. It was fun, but like all disney tours, it really depends on the tour guide. The price is low, very low, and it isn't much of a risk if you don't like it.

If your children are at an age where they can be easily embarrassed or care what people think then don't do it. At one point you must ride a fake horse (think Monty Python) and have to form a line and do robot walking monkey walking airplane etc.

My wife picked it and we did it and it was all families with little kids I don't think any were 10

Thanks for these comments -- very helpful indeed. Have a feeling both of my girls would feel a little silly...although I could get into the Monty Python fake horse thing and really embarrass them (if I was so inclined...and, occasionally, like any good parent, I am indeed so inclined!). Wish we had looked into this a few years ago, but will likely pass.

They are interested in the Marceline to Magic Kingdom Tour, so we'll likely do that one at some point...but my wife and I recently did that one when we went without kids (much to their chagrin) so we don't want to repeat too soon. If you haven't done that one, it's pretty awesome -- behind the scenes at Haunted Mansion, a ride on Pooh to see how it uses similar effects to HM (at least once, anyway) and then a talk-through at Carousel of Progress....with the guide chatting pretty much the full three hours or so.

My family has done it twice. The first time it was the 5 of us and 2 other small groups. My boys were 5, 12, and 16. Overall it was a small group and my boys got to do a lot. We had a great time and made lots of memories. I have to admit that my oldest is a Disney nut so he might have been more willing to be silly than most 16 year olds.
The second time we were traveling with 2 other large families so there were 14 of us total. Ages ranging from 7 to 14. We had fun but the size of the group did make it a bit harder and the older kids seemed to be just tagging along.
So in the end I guess it depends on your girls. Can they just give in to the Disney Magic and be silly? It's a lot of fun and you do get front of the line access for 1 or 2 rides, we got to hang out with Peter and have a special picture moment with Mickey.
