I have a friend who mentioned the Family Magic Tour to me. I looked it up on allears and it looked like fun to me! I wonder what others think of it, and also, do you think a 3 1/2 year old boy might enjoy it? I'm trying to decide if it's worth making a ressie for our trip in October.

Thanks in advance for advice and comments!

we just did this on Friday...our girls are 5 1/2 and 9...they LOVED it....they need to be involved by doing some silly things along the way as you search the park for hooks hook...there was no one younger than 5 on our trip so I can't say for sure about 3 1/2....you walk all around the park and a pretty good clip, there is a "potty break" in the middle...if he would like to meet peter pan and wendy it would be good....I think it depends on your child and whether he is good in groups and being silly!

Hi Wendy! :D

Thanks for the input, PLM. Still not sure. Anyone with young toddlers planning to do it or have done it? Thanks!

We did it when my sons were 3 1/2 and 5 1/2. As a family we really enjoyed it. But during the 2nd half our younger son was getting really tired and losing interest. We walked around the entire Magic Kingdom in 2 hours (we were told no strollers allowed)! Whenever we stopped they would get the map out and talk about clues. My 3 year old just couldn't stay focused. He did love getting to meet Peter Pan at the end.

My 3 year old enjoyed the overall experience, but if he was our only child then I wouldn't have felt we got our money's worth.

Looking back I think that 6 or 7 is the perfect age. They can read, but they are still young enough to pretend and act silly.

Thank you so much for that insight, DisneyArk! I did not pay close enough attention to the fact that no strollers are allowed--there's NO WAY my son could do that much walking! And daddy and I will get tired of carrying him after a while.

I agree that they don't focus well at that age, so I will skip the FMT for this trip, and wait until he's older.

Thanks again!

I ditto the above post - our DD, who is 5, just did this with us 2 days ago - on Friday. She about collapsed, after walking for 2 hours (we had 'spoiled' her all week by using a stroller!) She enjoyed parts of the tour, but she can't read, so she didn't like the 'clue' part. I think 3 1/2 would be a little young, so I agree with waiting until they're a little older!
