Family, Friends, & Celebrities- A MAGICAL Birthday TR!!! *UPDATE*8/27! Final thoughts

Great updates Tim!! I love how you guys take pictures of everything so you remember all the details...like the winner of monopoly! :rotfl: How fun!

I totally see why renting a house together would be fun and save a bunch of money and also time like you mentioned. I think it's a great idea and definitely has its advantages!

Love the DHS pictures so far and the group shot of you guys with Goofy and Pluto is awesome! :thumbsup2

Oh my gosh - a lost kid? :scared1: Don't leave us hanging for long now!

Heather

It IS always Kat and I.... Why is that??

NO, have no idea who would pull such shenanigans on a thread?? Who me?!! :confused3

I have no idea why he "singled" us out? Are we the ones who said we were going to strap one of the women on the top of the car? :scared1:

If I don't get on later, Happy Easter to everyone here who follows Tim's thread and to Tim, Mel and Princess Juliana.

Dave refused to take a picture of me holding the money, so I had to do it myself!

Up Next.... Do you remember your 1st time? DHS, and the 1st Celebrity sighting!!!!!!

Great arrival play-by-play! I'm glad that staying off-site didn't make you lose the Disney magic. I think we may rent a house the next time we go down with our entire family. You can't beat a Mamaw's cooking! :thumbsup2

Sarah Kate has the same Tiana PJ's as Juliana. :goodvibes

Love the Monopoly winner picture.

Very cool! :thumbsup2

It was a beautiful day. It was sunny with a high of 72. It felt like Florida weather.

So glad that it warmed up for you!

Great group pic!!

The kids are so cute! :goodvibes

This looks about like the area that we sat in last year. Great seats!

I'm nervous for the next update - a lost kid? :scared1: And very curious as to what celebrity you saw. :scratchin

72 degrees! PERFECT touring weather.

Playhouse Disney...I've outgrown that attraction;)
The weather was perfect on Sunday!!!

So ummm how many times have you seen Playhouse Disney?

Drinking lots of water is key. :thumbsup2
You can say that again!
What a site to see early in the morning! Back in my hometown in Maine, they host a balloon festival every year. It is so cool to see them in the early morning and right before sunset. :goodvibes
It was so nice and peaceful watching them.
Sounds like things are going well so far, but now you have me worried with a "lost kid."
Hopefully I can get to that tonight. :3dglasses

Great update. I hope the girls still like PHD this trip. Great job packing everyone and everything in the car!

Yay! I'm all caught up. So glad you aren't going to fast, or I would never be able to catch up. Looks like a great start.
Yay for Photopass arriving already!

Everyone looks so excited to be there! There is nothing like seeing the excitement on the kids faces, it gets us adults excited too! Can't wait to hear more!

THANKS!!!!!! Happy Easter to you too!! :flower3:

We were leaving Animation Courtyard still trying to decide what to do. Juliana wanted to go to the Honey I Shrunk the Kids playground. I didn't think this was a bright idea. It was already 11:15 and we have only seen 1 attraction so far. All Juliana wanted to do was go to that playground. I gave in- like any Dad would- and we headed over there.

The kids were playing and having a blast!

I was trying to find a HM in the playground by using the HM which Kathy (Katmark) sent to us. (Thanks again Kathy!!! ;)) I was looking everywhere and I couldn't find it. I CM saw me looking around and asked me if I wanted help finding it. I agreed and she led me to this.

DSC07854-1.jpg

Don't see it?

DSC07854-1-1.jpg

After she helped me find the HM, she had a surprise for me. She brought me to a corner of the playground and showed me this little princess.

DSC07851-1.jpg

She explained to me that when they were building the playground, a worker placed the charm into the wet concrete. If you weren't looking for it you probably wouldn't see it. It is near the exit to the spider web right next to the green grass.

DSC07853-1.jpg

I thanked her for showing me and walked back over to where the kids were playing.

DSC07859.jpg

In the middle of the playground there is a 'dirt' mound with 3 different slides. After each kid went down about 10 times they wanted to go over to the 'film' slide. To get to the film slide you have to climb up another 'dirt' mound that attaches to a bunch of tunnels. We watched Juliana climb the stairs that led to the slide. We moved over to the bottom of the slide to wait for her. Well Mel and I kept waiting and waiting... Juliana never came down. I went up to see what was taking her so long and she wasn't there!

Melody went into full panic mode and I started crawling through tunnels trying to find her. I'm calling for Juliana while I'm crawling through these tiny tunnels that were not meant for an adult to be in. I come out and tell Mel that I still can't find her. We are frantically looking for her and a CM comes over and asks us if we need help. Just then, Juliana comes walking down the stars on the opposite side of where the slide was. I don't think she thought she was lost. We grabbed her and hugged & kissed her- then scolded her. The whole ordeal lasted about 2 minutes but it felt like 20. We were just very relieved that Juliana was OK.

She did end up going on the slide. (upset that we yelled at her)

Now that the crisis had been averted, we brought the kids over to see the characters from Monster's INC.

I like this photopass pic

Meeting Mike Wazowski.

A few more pics.

It was noon and the kids were asking for snacks. We walked down the Streets of America and headed over towards ABC Commissary. We found a table outside and had our ham & cheese sandwiches that the wives made back at the house.

We came up with a plan while we were eating. We were gonna check out the Muppets then Dave & I would go to Lights, Motors, Action while the girls and the kids did some shopping, then we would meet up after the show.

To Be Continued... Up next.. Can we stick to the plan? & Celebrities :)

That's so fun that there were games like "Find the Hidden Mickey" for the adults to play too!! At first when she showed you that princess pin, I thought, before I read the whole paragraph, that she was giving you a pin for looking for HMs or something. But this was just as cool! A "hidden princess". Did you show it to Juliana??

PANIC!! Yikes!! I would have loved to have seen you rummaging around in the tunnels though. I had to do that once in a McDonalds playplace.
Gag me, it REEKED in there of sweaty kids and dirty feet!!

I hope I can catch some Pixar characters this time around. I was so lost in that park last time, I couldn't find them to save my EAster basket!

I think maybe he was still mad about losing Monopoly. ;)
Or mad that he would be joined by a slight hangover on his first park day! :rotfl::rotfl:

It was neat. I did show Juliana but she couldn't understand why it was there. :goodvibes

I feel like we really keep an eye on her and never let her out of our sight. She just pulled the slip on us!

The tunnels didn't smell great, I'll tell you that much.

There are some right across from TSM and the Monsters Inc are across from the Studio Catering Company- behind the gift shop. :)

You just gave me an idea for the one of the "empty spots" on my DHS Day Touring Journal page- the location(s) of all Pixar characters. Incredibles, Monsters, Cars, UP, etc.... THANKS!

I'm with you here. Our local zoo has a little playground that my kids just love. Of course we can't play at the park directly across the street for free - we have to pay zoo admission, look at 3 animals, then spend the rest of the time at the playground. :sad2:

After each kid went down about 10 times they wanted to go over to the 'film' slide.
Does she have any idea what "film" is? :rotfl2:

Yup, that would be my family too if (ok, when) we've lost one of our kids. Although I wouldn't say she was lost - more like misplaced.

I can't wait to see what Stopher does with this pic after the ribbing he gave me for squatting next to Tiana & Naveen in my TR. :rotfl2::rotfl:

To Be Continued... Up next.. Can we stick to the plan? & Celebrities :)[/SIZE]

Hey - you used the celebrity tease at the end of your last update. This has better be someone big (like Chuck Norris!) to warrant being teased twice. If its some C-lister like CarrotTop or anyone from a reality show, I swear I'm going to unsubscribe from this trip report!

Ahhhhh - the lost child in the HISTK play area. Been there done that numerous times. But, like you alluded to, it's not the kids that are lost - it's the parents. ;) The kids know where they are at all times.

What a scare! Fortunately, we have not had this experience yet with our DD. I only lose backpacks! :rotfl2:

Awwww... this is the first picture I can remember seeing where DD isn't smiling  You meanie! :lmao:

She did end up going on the slide. (upset that we yelled at her)

Well - actually - I thought about saying something, but then realized, wait, he's just trying to get down to Mike's level - so Tim's bending down makes sense.

Nice pictures and update Tim! :)

nice update tim!!! we have a pic when our dd was about 3 going down that slide with me first!!! i didnt put my feet down at the end and ended up on my butt!!! dd is 17 and she still remembers that everytime we walk by the play ground.:lmao:
