Hi everyone. Me, hubby, and our daughter 1 1/2 almost 2 then, will be going to WDW in september. It's our very very first time. I was just wondering what rides there are for kids or rather toddlers. I feel like either we (hubby and I) won't be able to go on any rides or Lillian will be miserable waiting in lines with no outcome for her execpt watching us take turns on something she can't go on. Granted, I'm not a big ride person, I like mild rides, but hubby loves rides and that's what he's looking forward to the most.

Anyways, can anyone tell me what things your toddlers enjoyed in WDW? Thanks in advance.

You'll be surprised at how many attractions you'll be able to experience with the little ones. My children were ages 2 & 3 when we first went to Disney. We avoided the rough rides like Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Tower of Terror. We also found that our 2 year old didn't like attractions that were dark and might have loud noises like any of the 3D movies (muppets/Bugs Life). Even though baby swap is available, we didn't choose to ride anything that we couldn't do with the kids since one of us would be left with two toddlers. It turned out to be the greatest trip. We simply avoided rides with long lines (any wait longer than 15 minutes was out). We actually discovered some attractions that we as adults had tended to skip. The train ride around MK, the people mover in tomorrowland, the carosel of progress, the steamboat at MK, Peter Pan, Small World, etc. We also took things at their pace. If my 3 year old was cranky, we wouldn't make a big deal about it. We would just head back to the resort - take a nap, maybe swim, and then go back for the night parade or maybe to hit a couple of rides in Fantasyland.

Disney with toddlers is so much fun! My kids are 10, 9, 8 now but we just looked through some of the photo albums of them when they were 1 and 2 at Disney World. They did just about everything except the thrill rides. They loved Small World and People Mover and the Train. The speedway was a hit for our son who felt like he was "driving". Riding the monorail was a lso a thrill and very easy to get oour double wide stroller onto. Those were truly magical vacations for us. We go every year and plan a family reunion in Jan. for our whole family. Memories........

DD was 2 when we went to DL & she could ride (off the top of my head; its been almost 4 years!) Dumbo, POTC, Haunted Mansion (although she didn't want to ride it again), teacups, Small World, etc.
To put it in perspective, we went to Legoland before we went to DL. The list of rides she *couldn't* ride at DL was about the same length as the list of rides she *could* ride at Legoland. She was bored at Lego but had a ton of fun at DL.

When we took our daughters 1 and 3 at the time, we rode:

In Magic Kingdom:
Dumbo
Cinderella's Carousel
Mad Tea Cup
Tomorroland Transit Authority
DisneyWorld Railroad
Magic Carpets of Aladdin
It's a Small World (new version is much brighter & colorful)

Animal Kingdom:
Kilimanjaro Safari (go early when the animals are out roaming about)
Triceratop Spin

There are lots of rides for little ones. At MK there is Small World, Peter Pan, Snow White (might be a little too scary b/c of darkness and loud noises tho.), and a lot more. Be sure to get fast-passes for the popular rides in Fantasy Land b/c the wait line and get very long. (don't be suprised to see and hour and a half wait.) Babyswap is nice if you have a mix older and younger kids. If not your DH will be suck w/ your DD while you go on a ride by urself and vis-versa. Have a magical time! :wizard: Hope I helped.

Consider using TourGuideMike's plans. I printed them out on a whim and they really allowed us to get right onto the rides with little or no wait- great for dd1 and dd3. The longest wait we had the entire time was for Dumbo (for the third time because dd3 insisted she didn't mind waiting that long and she didn't complain once). Anway, TGM will tell you how to work the system of fast passes to your advantage.

When we went in June, we didn't stick to the plan and we waited in many more lines. It's worth it...take it from a skeptic!
