Next Monday is Family Day (and another day off school for the kids ). Do you have special plans? Just gonna kick back & relax?

My husband will either be home the Monday or Sunday. Whichever day, we are going to take the kids to Boston Pizza for dinner and see Gnomeo & Juliet afterwards. We have a $25 GC for both BP and Cineplex, plus 2 free kids movie tickets so that should be a cheap fun evening!

If hubby is home on the Monday, then I found a conservation area out here that will have a free family snowshoeing day. We get to borrow snowshoes, explore the trails and drink hot chocolate. None of us have been on snowshoes before so this should be good. Hopefully next weekend will be much milder!

I was thinking of taking my family to the Bruce County Museum in Southampton. It looks like they have a lot of fun activities and exhibits to see.

Hopefully the weather wont be too bad - they get wicked snow off Lake Huron!

I will be working:headache:
The DD's and DH will happily be sleeping in.
When I get home we will probably go to the Mandarin for dinner as it is also mine and the youngest DD's birthday!!!!:thumbsup2

We have Louis Riel day on the 21st of February in Manitoba. Not family Day. :goodvibes

We haven't decided yet. Maybe go skating or something. We'll see.

DH and I will probably sneak out for a late Valentine's Dinner without DD.

Well I thought I was doing good by using some points for an overnight in Erie PA and doing the waterpark there BUT I forgot all about President's Day in the US so it should be just insane. Oh well, at least we can shop a bit too!

LOL! It's my DDs birthday too, and we're going to Mandarin for lunch. Isn't great getting a day off to celebrate your birth! :rotfl:

DH and I are going away for and 'alone' weekend w/out the kids (Woohoo!!!) We will pick DS up on family day and maybe go to a movie but we don't pick up DD until the next day (DD is going to my mom's and DS is going to MIL's...two different towns!).

Thinking back, we haven't spent the Alberta family day as a family in quite a few years. That said, we have a personal family day (August 1) that we celebrate. We are a blended family so we choose to really celebrate the day we became a family. August 1 is just the random day we chose because our situation is pretty complicated. DS was a part of our wedding and we include DS and now DD in our anniversary as well (usually the day before we do something and then the day of they have cake with us before bed).

We'll be enjoying the last day of Winterlude. Skating on the world's longest ice rink, ice sculptures, ice slides and beavertails of course!

Well, early Happy Birthdays to you two! If your kids are young enough to be fooled, you can tell them the holiday is just because it's your birthday! :lmao:

We will be in the most magical place on earth..........

YUP DISNEY :cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

I'm down at Disney with my family too!

You two are having the BEST family day EVER! I'm so jealous... :goodvibes

I always thought our family would enjoy that one day. But by the time our youngest was fully potty trained, my brother's family broke up and moved out of Ottawa. Ah well.

Have fun everyone!

Packing and getting ready for our trip which is the following Friday:cool1:
Your evening sounds fun! Dh and Ds saw Gnomeo and Juliette last night and said it was cute. They seemed to have fun:)

We'll be relaxing at home for most of the weekend but will take in some family day activities around town likely. I haven't really looked to see what's going on yet.

Sounds like you've got a good plan though. We saw Gnomio & Juliet for the premiere and it was really cute.

We are going to Niagara Falls with my SIL & her family.

We went together last year and our kids all had such a blast that for this past Christmas, we suggested that instead of the adults exchanging gifts, our "family gift" would be to meet up in NF on Family Day. We are once again staying at the Skyline Inn, but this time for two nights: One night with the Fallsview Waterpark package, which will include basically two days at the waterpark, and one night just hotel stay so we can do other things. We are going to try to do this every year as our Christmas gift, since we don't need any more "stuff" and this way we get to spend time more time together. My SIL & her family live 4 hours' drive away, so unfortunately my kids don't get to see nearly as much of their favourite cousin as they would like.

My Dd is going to be at a competition all day Saturday. So most likely we will want to hang out at home and do nothing. Probably cook an extra nice dinner. Plus, I've been on leave from work, without pay, for a week now so there will be no money spent until I go back to work.

Three of the 5 of us are going into Buffalo to do some GF shopping (the selection is so much better there) and to "test drive" the hotel we'll be at before Disney in May!
