sarahkaiserdse, You are correct that certain lines of sponsorship are more benign than others. However, as witnessed by the relative ease at which you can find people that have personal horror stories about "the business" the abusive lines are bountiful. At would also be nice to hear the "good apples" be a little more vocal about the abuses their Quix... er, Amway brethren are experiencing at the hands of the "bad apples" and suggest that the other guys get their act together and/or urge Amway to put a stop to it instead of minimizing their role in the grand scheme. These "bad apples" are a major reason you have problems recruiting people and why Amway has to re-package itself every few years. If Amway was simply about low-pressure recruiting, buying value-based products for yourself, and nothing more, people wouldn't flee at the mention of the name.

Hi! Thanks for all the posts. However, those IBO's who have posted don't seem to be jet-setting millionaires and are still working other jobs. Correct me if I'm wrong. My nephew, remember, is a CHILD. I know that people have some crazy belief that once someone is 18 they are an adult. Please give me a break. Until you can support yourself completely and independently, you are a kid-plain and simple (did anyone see that show about spring break last night?)Anyway, my nephew believes in what they tell him-if he "works the business" correctly, in five years he will be a millionaire and never have to work again. The point of Quixtar is to get people under you. Those of you selling products are just scratching the surface. Alos, you guys seem to be adults. You aren't living with grandma wihtout a penny to your name becasue your entire paycheck every week goes to "Quixtar" related JUNK.

A 20 year old is not a child. And I sure hope that someone is getting him help rather than sitting around complaining about a business.

I agree. You can talk about Quixtar being awful all you want, but in the end, this guy needs help. Hands down.

Quixtar/Amway isn't the only one, of course

There are many! My SIL got involved in one a few years ago. She and my brother thought for sure this was their ticket to a better lifestyle. She would invite my sister and I to these meeting, my sister went to one and almost got sucked in, but I knew better.

I only knew better because the woman who "befriended" my SIL was like a robot. She would be at my brothers house for a casual gathering, and you had to steer clear from her, because she tried to sell the program 24/7. I don't know if she even knows how to talk about anything else.

I hope the OP's family can get help for this kid.:grouphug:

My mom says he seems a bit better since he talked to his mom's new husband, who is brand new to our family. This man has a lot of patience and we don't know all that was said yet....maybe a fresh outlook will help....

Mom's new husband sounds like a guy who can pull this off.

I never heard of Amway OR Quixtar- I guess I don't get out much.:confused3

As far as "get rich" seminars and programs, I believe the old adage "If it sounds too good to be true, then it probably is."
