Family Board Game Ideas

I am looking for a new family game. I love playing games but sometimes have to convince my family (dh, ds15, dd112). The kids love electronic things but I like a good old game. I am getting Balderdash this year so far. Am considering Pit or 5 Crowns (card game). Anyone have suggestions.

When our family gets together we break out the Dinsey version of games; Life, Monopoly, Trivial Pursuit, Scene It, Clue. Pictionary and Balderdash are fun too. Our ultimate family game is UNO. We go on wicked rounds of slamming people right and left. When you put 2 or 3 decks together you'd better watch out in our house

I like scattegories board game and phase 10 card game. And one year we played a game with clay that was pretty fun. It was pretty much charades except you would mold the clay into the clue. I'm not sure of the name though.

We have the typical Monopoly, Life, Clue, ect and play them all the time! My kids love to play board games so we usually get them a few for Christmas each year. This year we got our daughter Connect 4 x 4 (she loves this game!) and Electronic Guess Who and got my son Pictionary Man and Clue Secrets and Spies. We also got Rummikub and Jenga as family gifts.

It is a STRATEGY type game, EASY to learn and changes quickly.....we really like it...

we do phase 10 and scrabble. Also Disney Scene it.

So glad to see that so many have family game night! My daughter loves it and I am trying to do it more often since it is something that my parents never did with me.

Did others grow up having family game night or is this something you do with your kids since you had them?

Uno Attack is a lot of fun. I recommend it.

Just got Disney Scene It for Christmas for the family so I am looking forward to that one. We also have Disney DVD Bingo, which the kids LOVE to play.

Fave games are Apples to Apples,can be played with a huge range of ages EASILY and Bananagrams, I could play this for HOURS! (it's like a newer,better,simpler scrabble) if you can put together 3 letter words, you can play this game!
Blokus is great,but stick with the original,it's the best(4 people)
we have a million games,but we always seem to play those 3!

DB got us Flapdoodle last year & it's not in some stores but pretty funny! It's along the lines of Cranium in that people have to get up & act out different things, sing a song, etc.
