A friend with a 5 year old child has asked me a question that I don't know the answer to.If you choose not to enroll your child in the childrens programs are there things that are organized for families to do together while the ship is at sea ? They just came off a 4 day Carnival cruise and said there was nothing planned at all for families. Thanks a lot!!

We were on the magic, and there are family activities, like pool games, game show type things at night, a frog type race I think etc. We didn't do much of these as my kids loved the kid club and the regular evening shows. The navigator specifies all family activities by an F next to the event.

We did do one of the game shows in studio seas, but it was really geared toward older kids and families, my 5 year old would have been bored.

You should remind your friend that the kids clubs are free, and that you never know if a child will like it or not. They may be surprised how much their child enjoys interacting with other kids. The 5-7 year olds had lots of fun stuff to do.

My kids insisted on going the first night, I was a little hesitant, I was afraid it would be too crowded and would turn them off to the clubs for the rest of the week. Much to my surprise when I cam to pick them up around 10:00pm my 5 year old was learning to hula and loving it! It was too cute!
