Families of 5-6 where do you stay?

We are a family of 6 usually. When we are a family of 6, we usually get 2 connecting rooms. We have never had a problem because it is 2 adults and 4 children. Sometimes, my oldest does not go and then we stay at POR.

Offsite.

Unless I could afford a 2BR villa at Disney (and I can't), I wouldn't stay onsite. And even 2BR is small. There are 6 of us (DH and I and 4 kids). I'd rather have all the amenities of offsite for a fraction of the price of a crowded room onsite.

Another Vote for the cabins::thumbsup2 By far the best for large families. Separate room for the kids and a murphy bed for the adults. Works great.

Saw POR mentioned as well.. we did this option when our youngest was 2. They have a trundle bed that slides out and is a great option for the children to rotate on. Our girls rotated where they slept as they all wanted to try the trundle.

We are 5 (kids ages are 11, 9, and 7)... Staying at BC. Last time we did POR.. Looked at cabins, but read so many things about it being so spread out, long walk from bus, etc... Decided against.

We always do 2 rooms at a value resort, and have always been given connecting rooms. I don't like the value suites since they don't offer true beds for the kids. This next trip my sister is going with her family of 5 at the same time so we are each getting a value room and then splitting the cost of the second value room which makes the price even better.

Getting nervous our connecting room request might not be granted at CBR - even though it's not a very busy time of year (end of sept-oct). So looking for recommendations.

We do 1-bedrooms at DVC's Bay Lake Tower or DVC's Animal Kingdom Lodge - Kidani. Not only is there space for 5 (including a king, a queen sofa bed, and a pull-out chair), there are 2 bathrooms. Any other DVC's, and we would do a 2 bedroom (1 king, 2 queens, 1 pull out sofa bed).

We are a family of 5 with 3 kids, 8, 4 and 3. We own DVC which helps a lot but have stayed in our camper at Fort Wilderness but we are also staying at POP and POR in 2 weeks. Not sure how we will do since we won't have a kitchen like we are used to but it is only 2 nights and 1 night.

Yup! 6bdrm home at WH for our family of 5. Decked out in Disney theming, private pool/hot tub, resort pool with waterslide, lots of resort amenities and just about as close to the parks as any value. We don't do hotels unless for a night or two and then we do a suite. I need comfort and space when on vacation. Kids sound asleep, hubby and I relaxing in the pool with a drink. Kids still asleep in the morning relaxing with hubby outside enjoying a cup of coffee. Some say they don't want to cook or clean, but we didn't do any of that. We ate almost exclusively on site, enjoyed lots of on site activities and were to and from the parks faster than any bus would have gotten us there. I'd look at some of the options. Some of the themed homes are amazing and our kids loved it.

As a family of 6 we have done:

Connecting rooms multiple times. However one time we did not end up with connecting rooms, but adjoining rooms. Not sure what would have happened had we pursued the matter, but we did fine with adjoining.

All Star Family Suite. We loved this! Space to spread out, 2 bathrooms, 2 tvs, and a kitchenette. Plus a queen sized bed in a separate bedroom area.

POR. As much as I love POR, I wouldn't do that ever again. Way too tight!

Off site a few times. One of those times was after being packed into one room at POR, and I think everyone was happy to go to someplace with more space.

Rented points for a 2 bedroom DVC unit. That was very nice too!

We stay in the 2br villas at any of the DVC resorts, changing it up each time.

I didn't realize BLT also had 2 bathrooms in their one bedrooms- I would have looked much harder at that option!

Wyndham bonnet creek- 2 bedroom. Right next to Caribbean Beach- never have to leave 'the bubble' :) 2 bathrooms, jacuzzi tub, living room, laundry- all for around 120/night---and nicer pools than values/mods for sure and some might argue they are nicer than a lot of the deluxes!

A few restaurants on site and access to delivery from one of our favorite restaurants- Giordano's....and little to no cooking :)

I'll second Bonnet Creek. Nothing like watching fireworks from a massive deck, while the family is stretched out. All this for a lot less than any "onsite" option, while still feeling sooooo close to all the action.

We are not usually a family of 5, but on this last trip we took our niece with us making us 5 in the room. We stayed at POR and was able to have a room with the murphy bed. Worked out great for us!

We are a family of 6. Staying at POP with 2 connecting rooms. I wish we could all fit at POR, well, we can, but I don't want to pay for 2 rooms there. :crazy2:

I love POR but my kids, even the older ones, LOVE Pop Century. :thumbsup2

Poly! We are a family of 5, have used a crib. The rooms are huge. We actually love all being in one room! It is a special vacation treat, as kids all have their own room at home. We are always wiped out, so sleep is no problem, even with lights on in one side of room at night, or with blinds open in morning... I still have to shake kids awake! Yes, it is pricier, but depending on season, it is not much more than cabins. Our kids are still too little for me to be comfortable with connecting rooms.
