Is anyone else with kids re-thinking the dining plan for 2007? We were planning on using the dining plan, and now that there are several restaurants not listed in the plan for 2007, we are leaning towards not purchasing the plan and going it ourselves. The problem is that it will become too tedious to track our meals if we will want to eat outside of the plan. For example, we want Rainforest Café, and either one is not on the plan. I just feel like if we are eating table services out side the plan, we will be compelled to eat all the food on the plan to get our moneys worth. That is just too much work (and food ) for a vacation. I am a planner and would like to know where we would be eating each day, but I don’t want to limit myself to eat only at plan restaurants. Is the plan worth it in the end? We are a family of 4 with 2 young boys and we will be sharing meals a lot, regardless.
Just looking for what others will be doing…….
Thanks! :confused3

We're a family of four, too and going next year. I hate that several of the restaurants aren't on there, but honestly, all of the ones that I had picked for TS are still there. I've also read posts on the Disney Dining board that some of the CM's have said that many of the restaurants are still "pending" - so they may still be on there, but Disney tried to get that list out quickly to coincide with the packages coming out 8/6. Good luck on your decision, but I still think it's worth it.

We will still get the DDP I'm sure...we've done it for our last 2 trips.

It may affect what resort we stay at though. We were thinking of a 9 or 10 day stay at CSR for our next trip...but I didn't see it listed on the plan. Hopefully they will add it. I can't see staying at the resort if we can't even use our CS credits there.

We did the dining plan on our last trip and included it on our trip for 2007. What has changed? Where can I see of list of rest included in the plan?

We love the dining plan. If you want to do the RainForest one night not on the plan, then use your extra TS credits and do a 2 TS meal on the plan, ie Hoop de Doo. I can tell you it is so nice not to have to eat sandwiches for lunch everyday in the room to cut back on cost as we did when my children were little. We can all eat what we want and not worry about cost. :thumbsup2

Here's the brochure for 2007:

It's mostly Epcot and Downtown Disney areas that are affected. None of the restaurants we want are affected, so I'm still doing the dining plan. Also, we eat at Rainforest Cafe as well...a tradition for us because the boys love the atmosphere. We just use our extra meal elsewhere during the trip. We do a number of character meals, so the meal plan is worth it for us. I can't imagine eating counter service or sandwiches the entire trip.
