??False Negative Pregnancy Test?

With my first pregnancy the tests went:

Home test - NO

Dr's office 3 days later, urine - NO

Dr's office 7 days later, urine - NO

Dr's office 5 days later, blood - YES

And it had been over a month, since I should have had a period.

.

Pretty much the same for me except it had been two months and the doctor could already tell I was pregnant from my exam. They just needed confirmation. My false negative is 12.

My false negative (3 times) just turned 10. I was really sick, and a week late. I took 3 tests over the next week, and kept saying my "cold" must be delaying my pd. I ended up being hospitalized with Pnuemonia. When they came in to give me pain meds, I asked for a blood test just to make sure. I never got any pain meds!

From what I understand, false positives are extremely rare. False negatives are pretty common.

i've had plenty of false negatives

with dd #1 i kept taking the test once a week and it was neg. all the time I was 3 months along before the test came out positive..I have a very irregular period, I was also 17 and for some reason just kept taking the test ??? I guess deep down i knew i took the last test in the pm it was neg. again and something told me to check the test in the am .. i did it was positive

dd#2 i took about 5 tests before it came out positive i was 2 1/2 months along

ds i knew right away for the others i had NO symptoms kept having my period ds-i didn't get my period had morning sickness(at first i thought it was acid reflux i'd eat and without warning alittle stuff came up like spit up tons of heart burn ect..) chest hurt with the slightest movement, i got preg on nov.13 05 took a test on january 2? and didn't even finish peeing and the test came out positive!!!!

a corpus luteum cyst is a cyst that you get WHEN YOU ARE PREGNANT! It releases hormones to keep a pregnancy going. It will resolve by the time the pregnancy is 14 weeks along. If you have a CL cyst, then you are pregnant. Now, you can have cysts and not be pregnant, in fact it is normal, but they are follicular cysts, and one will be the dominant follicle which releases the egg for fertilization. I am an ultrasound tech, and I see CL cysts all the time.. at least 2-3 a week.;)

This is not true as others have stated. I had one removed along with endometriosis in January during a lap. I had an ablation at the same time. I have had follicular cysts before too. They are both types of functional cysts.

It can and does happen! When I took a home test when I thought I was pregnant it showed up as faintly pink (pink was positive) so I went to the naval hospital for an "official test". It came back negative. I called and they refused to retest stating that their test was highly sensitive and completely accurate. I went to my private doctor and he did a test and it was positive. Eight months later my husband went in to the naval lab and introduced them to our "negative" pregnancy test...our daughter. Tests can be wrong.
