Hey all!

My name is Fallon and I am currently 21 years old. When we get married I'll be 22. My DF's name is Zach and he is currently 24 (going to be 25).

I use to look at these boards a lot dreaming when I was younger, but didn't exactly feel too welcomed, so I'm hoping I will not get in trouble posting a PJ now that I am ready to have a real wedding. I think you all are really awesome and I'm excited to start planning my very own Disney Wedding.

Originally we were planning a wedding for December 2011, but DF and I were talking last night, and after figuring out that between his birthday in September, mine in November, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, holiday stress, etc., that it might not be the best idea to have a December wedding. Apparently one of my grandmothers and my mother had the same concerns. The one thing that makes me sad about this is because I always imagined getting married on my grandparent's anniversary (December 8th), and ever since I was 14 I said I was going to. I'm afraid of insulting my other grandmother by not getting married on her anniversary. I love her very much...

But the benefit of not getting married in December is not showing favoritism for one grandmother over the other. I don't have favoritism, but I realize that it can be portrayed like that...

So...the new "idea" date is mid-May/June 2011. Which is 14/15 months away! So I called Disney like 5 minutes ago and I'm waiting for a consultant to call me back.

Ideally, we would like a Wishes wedding at SBP. Boardwalk is very special to us. We spent half of our first date there, had our first kiss there, AND got officially engaged there! So it seems like the perfect spot for us.

I'll update with our story next...hope I am welcomed back, and I can't wait to plan my DFTW!

congrats and welcome!!!! :goodvibes

Thanks pink_tink! :goodvibes

So on to how we met!

Last year, my friend thought it was very pathetic that I was turning 21 and didn't have a boyfriend...so she decided to sign me up for dating websites for my birthday! :scared1:

My response was simple "what the heck?!" Lol. She signed me up for a couple but the one that stuck out was CatholicMingle.com. I wasn't planning on using the dating sites, but between peer pressure and being trapped in my room due to swine flu (yes I survived the swine flu epidemic! Lol) I had nothing better to do so I gave it a try.

As I was looking through the first time I saw Zach's profile, but wasn't planning on contacting him. He lived in Florida, and I don't really want to live here forever, so I was thinking maybe outside of Florida. So I ignored his listing a couple times.

A couple days later, I did another random search and his profile showed up again, however it seemed to be extra highlighted. I don't know what it was, but something made me look at the profile and message him.

Turns out, he wasn't even a member yet! He got my message and actually bought a one month membership just to talk to me! I didn't find this out until a couple of months after we started dating though. I'm so glad he thought I was worth the $15! LOL :woohoo:

Anywho, we started talking while I was sick, and really hit it off! A few weeks later we met for our first date (the day after I turned 21) at Epcot. Because I was on the CP at the time, I was able to get us in the park for free, and it was an AMAZING time!

At first we were both really quiet and shy, and then, I don't know why, but I ended up grabbing his hand in the line for test track. I am NOT outgoing like that usually, but when I did that things really got more comfortable (even though we were still both really nervous with sweaty hands LOL :rotfl:).

As the date went one (and we made it to World Showcase) we were really close and having a ball. The whole way through he insisted he wanted to buy something for my birthday. I was being really shy going "you don't have to get me anything", but he was insisting. Keep in mind I am NOT good at asking for things, so I wasn't going to just out and ask for him to buy me something lol.

We got to Germany and I saw this ADORABLE ornament. It looked like crystal (but I think it's more of a hard plastic) and had Dumbo inside and lights up. I was looking at it for a while, and he asked me if I wanted it, but me being shy I was like "no...it's okay" LOL.

I've always sucked at lying, and he saw right through it, took it out of my hands, and bought it for me. I absolutely adore it and refused to put it away with the Christmas stuff when I got home after my CP!

Here it is:

After we did Epcot, we still had time before Illuminations, so we decided to go to Boardwalk and hang out. We did the arcade and everything and then he suggested to go into the photobooth to take some pictures:

and we couldn't figure out what to do for the last picture, we were kind of just looking at each other and then, well, he leaned in and did this:

Yes that was our first kiss. And I'm so happy to have it on film! I absolutely love this photostrip.

We then just hung out on the Boardwalk found a quiet spot and talked for a few hours. It was utterly romantic :lovestruc

After that we headed to Italy and watched Illuminations and then was about to leave...he asked me if I wanted a lift home. Everything I was EVER taught about meeting people on the internet was going off in my head "DON'T GET IN THE CAR!!!!"

Well....I felt like I could trust him...I went against the "common sense flee" mechanism and let him give me a lift home....(yeah...wasn't bright, I know...but I didn't want the night to end! Lol)

In his truck, he had a gift bag...apparently he already had a gift for me in the car! In the bag was a copy of A Christmas Carol. I was so happy!

Okay, for a little backstory. My birthday is in November, and my parents have a rule that from November 1st-December 31st I can't buy myself anything. I've always wanted the book A Christmas Carol, but was never given it. Well no one really wants to buy A Christmas Carol around Halloween or after New Years, so I never bought it....but it's always been on my list. We were talking before we met and I told him that it was my favorite story, and how I am dying to buy the book, but I never got around to it. He actually listened and bought it for my birthday! I was so excited that as soon as I got home I started reading it (I'm easy to please, lol.)

Anyway, he brought me home, said good night, and left. We both knew during the date that we were meant to be!

Next installment: Engagement story

Welcome and congratulations, can't wait to hear more of your plans.

Thanks! I'm excited to share them :)

Now on to the engagement story!

On February 26th, 2010 we had to go to my friend Eileen's bridal shower up in Orlando, which started at 7:30pm. So we decided to make a day of it and go to Boardwalk, DTD, and possibly miniature golfing.

First stop was Boardwalk, we went to ESPN club for lunch where we both had the fish sandwich (since it was Friday we couldn't have meat). Sorry I forgot to take a picture of it! But overall I wasn't too impressed...

While there, they were doing a live broadcast for the radio right on the big stage! It was pretty awesome to see, I know DF loved it!

As we left ESPN we were strolling around and Zach suggested we take another picture in the photobooth. So we go in. He starts digging in his pocket pretending to look for a $5, but instead he pulls out my ring! He asked me to marry him, and of course I said yes! I was so surprised, I didn't think it would happen that day, but looking back, I should've known lol.

Here is the ring:

I absolutely love it!

After that we got our Just Engaged buttons, finished walking around Boardwalk, and then went to DTD.

At DTD we had a great time! We even built light sabers at Once Upon A Toy

After that we head to Winter Summerland. Here we made a bet, if I won we got to go to the Wedding Pavilion, if he won we didn't LOL.

And here was the winner....lol

Yup I lost...oh well lol.

All in all it was a great day! I really enjoyed myself, and so did Zach! Very exciting :)

Congratulations on everything! :) I can't wait to hear more, and start my own PJ very very soon!!

What is ADH??

Congrats and welcome! How sweet that you have that photo booth strip as a memory of your first date together! Cute proposal story too!

I think May/June is a great time. We usually go to Disney in June and while it can be hot, it's a great time to go. I agree that you don't want to risk hurting anyone's feelings by picking one anniversary over the other and it'll be nicer to have it spaced out and have something to celebrate later in the year. ;)

Happy Planning! :goodvibes

ADH is Atlantic Dance Hall at the Boardwalk. It is absolutely gorgeous!

Can't wait for you to start your PJ so I can read it!

Yeah, we feel it's the best. Leaning towards June 11th, so that we also avoid my parent's anniversary (which is June 3rd) but we still need to talk to Disney.

So, I called Disney last Thursday, and they told me they would call me back later that day or the next day. It's Sunday and I still haven't received a call! I just want to talk to a WC and plan our site visit!

We already want to see SBP and ADH, but are there any other places that you recommend seeing? We want a non-park location so we can use our own photographer (which kinda stinks because I do love LSS, might ask to see it just for kicks lol).

So, any recommendations?

So, for colors, we're basically doing our favorite colors.

Zach loves green, and I love purple. So here are some inspiration boards I found with our colors:

I think the colors go really great together!

I was also thinking on putting my bridesmaids in green dresses, but I can't decide between long or short. I love the look of long dresses, and would love to do them. However, I'm afraid that Florida weather in June would be too hot for them..then again I have bridesmaids of all different sizes...so here are some inspirations:

What do you girls think?

So we got our call from our WC, Bill :woohoo:

But apparently, we have too many people for SBP :( that makes me sad, I was really looking forward to that location!

But we scheduled a site visit for April 17th 2010 at 12:30 PM!

The places we are going to look at are Wedding Pavilion and Croquet Lawn (Boardwalk) for ceremony locations and Atlantic Dance Hall and Boardwalk Conference Center/Convention Center for reception locations.

If we pick WP and ADH how would we get our guests from one location to the other? I really want ADH, but since SBP isn't an option, I'm not 100% sure it'd work...suggestions?

I am jealous you get to have a a site visit, we live to far away to justify driving down for one. Take pictures to share with us!!

I am having the same issue with deciding on a reception site. I really really want to use the Attic, but I think it might be to far away from the WP that i want to use too. I don't want to hire a bus just to move people! :confused3

How many people can you have at SBP? That is my second idea!!

What about the wedding gazebo at the Yacht Club? That way you're still close to the Boardwalk and ADH.

They said 70, so that's too small for how many people our families want to invite (which, at this point is 131 :scared1: but apparently most of the invites are "courtesy invitations" ie., people not expected to come)

What about the wedding gazebo at the Yacht Club? That way you're still close to the Boardwalk and ADH.

I asked about that, and they said that they would all fit but it'd be an uncomfortable squeeze...and the main reason we were looking at SBP was because of how special Boardwalk is to us.

But I managed to add Summer House to the site visit. Just talked to Heidi :)

Awww yay!! Congratulations!! You guys are an adorable couple and I'm defintiely following along!! I LOVE the purple and green (we considered it at one point). It's just beautiful! So glad you are here with a PJ!!!

Thanks Mandy!! I'm happy to be here :goodvibes

What do you think of the dress options? I'm having a hard time deciding...

I think for July you should definitely do a short dress. My Moh wore a short dress to the WP and it wasn't informal at all. I love the second one (the middle)!!!

Yeah I like it too. I'm worried because my 3 bridesmaids are all different sizes...one is tall and size 0 practically, one is shorter but still pretty thin, and the third is short also and has more curves (like me, lol.). Would it flatter all of them?

I think so...what about something like this?

It might be flattering to all body types (hide the hips on the curvy girls)
