Falling into September Super Goofs Challenge

2.7 mi/32 min. for today.

I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Good morning Goofs! It is raining buckets and very blustery here as Hanna blows through. The good news is that it will lower our unseasonable temps to normal 70s again with lower humidity. All you southerners can keep that sticky kids stuff, my long runs and I do not appreciate it fully!!! :lmao:

Great to see everyone out there getting their steps in.
Mike: 19 miles...I have a hard time thinking about 13 miles. Still working up the courage for a full and the Ironman....:scared:

Susie: I did get your DL miles for you and Steve. They are already posted and done. Thanks for making sure though. Better safe than sorry, especially with me and my little brainness lately.

Joanne: 13 miles today? I have 9 and I am dreading it in the rainy yucky mess. I am thinking of opting for the TM at the gym (I run faster there than in the basement). I have 10 on for Tuesday and 12 next Sunday so I guess my time is coming....

Kim: Glad you had a good group run. I wish there was a place for me to do that here. I really enjoy running with my SIL as it pushes me out of my comfort zone. If I could do that once a week, I think it would make me a better runner.

Everyone else: Hope you have a super Sunday!!!

As for me, yes 9 today and Hanna is supposed to be done by afternoon. Do I want to put off the 9 miles until then, not really, or maybe. TM or outside, wait or don't wait. I guess the decision will come to me when it comes.. I spent yesterday wrapping presents (DS will be 7 Thursday, DNephew 7 on Saturday and DH will be 40 on Monday ( )). I also got out the suitcases and made my final ( ) lists for packing for ToT. Nearly at the 1 month mark :dance3: and I am getting antsy. With the temps dropping to normal again, I should be able to pack shorts and swim suits soon!!!!

Have the best of best days Goofs. Get out there and get some steps in and make them count toward your new year of fitness!!! :cheer2:

Did my 13 today! I was able to do most of it on my regular run route before hubby went off to work then 6 on the treadmill. Always so delightful to do with fighting little ones around! I probably should not have done a body pump class yesterday- my quads are screaming!
I did total 3 hours- 2.40 hours running then 20 minutes of yoga/stretching.
Off to a kid friendly farm then Kimballs Ice cream (what the heck- I earned it!)

Beautiful day in OK today...just returned from a bike ride...

16.1 miles/65 min.

Reminder...I'll be out in the field with my unit for the next week or so...I'll post when I return.

Have a great day!

Mike - I remember now that you said you were going to train for an Ironman. Holy cow!!!! :scared: I guess I just didn't know that you were training for a full as well. That makes sense though, now that I think about it....part of your ironman training. Duh! I'm a little slow. :teeth:

Lisa - so, what was it? Gym or run with Hanna? I know what I'd do - the dreaded treadmill.

Joanne - good job on the 13 miles...in really good time as well! :thumbsup2

Cecilia - great job on the 6 miler. Sounds like you are getting back full swing into the Goofy training. :goofy:

FLORIDA_GIRL - I keep forgetting that you moved to OK. Did you say that you were going to do the OKCity Memorial Half (or Full) this next year? If I don't do the Rock N Roll Nashville, I'll do OKC half again. I really liked it last year.

Here's some more miles and hours for Steve and me:

Sunday, Sept 7:

Susie: 7 miles (4 W/R, 3 bike), 1.25 hours
Steve: 21 miles (bike), 1.25 hours

Thanks for the encouragement! 45 days until MCM!
Lighter week this week- 3,7,4, then 10. I still have to get in riding (FUN, FUN, FUN) and my spin classes. I will take the day off tomorrow (except for riding) but my legs are sore! Off to soak in the hot tub with an ice cold glass of white wine (or two).

Susie,

I know...my user name probably throws a lot of people off. It's still appropriate though, as I was born and raised in Florida :)

I definitely plan on participating in the OKC Marathon...probably the half, but maybe the full, depending on where I'm at with training...I'd love to have company if anyone is up for it.

I'm off to bed...I have to be to work by 0500 tomorrow

Good early morning Super Goofs.

I am under consideration for the OKC half and possibly considering the OKC full. I am also under consideration for the CMM half (10th anniversary) so anyone who wants to sway the vote is welcome to put in their 10 cents!!!! Actually it probably won't even take that much......:lmao:

I got my 9 miles in yesterday. Despite the cool temps (68) and the misty sprinkly post-Hanna weather, it was still really sticky!!! I got 9 in 1:13:14 which is ever so slightly faster than my last 9 mile good run (not last weeks sickly run without water and food). Apparently 10:30 is a happy place for me on my LR. Today is officially the start of training for the Applefest...:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

My plan starts out with XT for today which is okay with my legs after yesterday. I will take a nice bike ride for about an hour and try to squeeze in some gym time this afternoon during field hockey practice. Tomorrow is 10 miles, 1 easy, 8 x1 mile at 10K pace (9:45), and 1 easy. :scared: I have a 10 mile run, a 7 mile run, a 3-4 mile run and then 10-16 on for Sunday...:scared1: Here's hoping I get the desired results during the half for all this work!!!!! popcorn::

Take care everyone and I hope you all have a super goofy great day!!!! :flower3:

Good Monday Morning, Goofs!

Just a 3-miler for me today. Legs were feeling a little tired for some reason, so I did a little walk break in the middle. Total time: 30 minutes.

Saturday I went to my son's XC Invitational. Man are those kids fast! In between races I took the dog for a nice 3-mile walk (50 minutes)

Off to do a few office-appropriate stretches/exercises for my weak hips. (Getting tired of explaining these while people walk by!)

Maura

Hi, long time no see. I have not posted for awhile. I got back from vacation about a week ago. I go back to the doctor tomorrow to find out if my foot is healed. I just hope I do not need surgery. That would be 8 weeks in a cast. My foot bothers me on and off. I am still in the walking boot.

I hope everyone is doing well.

Good morning Goofs. I trust that everyone survived Monday and is ready to rock into Tuesday!!

Becky: Nice to see you are still with us. Best of luck at the doctor's office. You have done well to be good for all this time. I would have run and maybe just fudged the truth...:rolleyes1

Kim: Sorry that the running gave you insomnia. I heard on the radio yesterday that Americans are sleeping less and less and all I could think of was, hmmm, maybe they need to get out and move because I have no problem sleeping....at all...:sad2:

Maura: Great job knowing when to take a break. Sometimes when I feel tired or "heavy" I give myself a break too. I think we all need it from time to time. You can only push so much before something bad happens. Keep up the great work.

Angie: Sorry for the sore legs. :wizard: That you feel better soon. I saw that you signed up for the Hampton Rock Fest. I will be in ToT that weekend, otherwise I would have been there too. Let me know how it was because it is definitely a maybe on the to do list for next year...:upsidedow

Everyone else: I hope you have a wonderful Tuesday!!

As for me, I rode 14.55 miles yesterday on my bike. It hurt and felt good at the same time. I have not been on my bike for awhile as I was concentrating on upping my running miles. I definitely noticed!! My mom showed up at field hockey practice and wanted to walk on the track so I put in another 2 miles on top of the 14.55!! :woohoo: Today is 10 miles and I will have to do it in 2 segments with 5 after work, pick up kids and go to field hockey practice and then 5 miles on the track. I am hoping that the "severe" T-storms predicted for this afternoon are for late afternoon!!!! Otherwise, it is either bag the run or do it on the TM in the basement later. I am up at 4 so later seems to be nonexistent for me!!!

Have a great day Goofs!!!

Hi goofs!

Well I am in a quandry. I have a 6-4-6-R-8 week planned but I have surgery on friday so I think I should juggle it up so that I am not leaving that 8 miler until Saturday. However, I can't eat on Thursday so I don't want to do it on Thursday with no fuel. Hmmm. I guess I have to run the 8 today. I wonder what my running partner will say when she shows up thinking 4 and I say "no lets do 8." Welcome to Goofy Training....

announcers voice: "Tune in next week to find out how Cecilia got her training done"
