I'm here now on a quick Birthday trip - and boy has it been eventful! I'll try to break it all down soon (going home tonight
) but wanted to check in quickly and tell you about my close encounter with the Tree of Life.
On Saturday evening, we were heading in to see It's Tough to be a Bug. There were 2 other couples on the trail right in front of us. As we all approached one of the little side trails with a bench there was a crazy rustling in the bush next to the path. The couples on front kind of kept walking, but I was totally sure that a wild animal was about to jump out of that bush at us! I mean, we're in the Animal Kingdom, so that's where my mind went.
I was so relieved when only a large branch came out of the bush. One of the guys walked back to look at it - we were all surprised to see it was fake. It kind of looked like a branch from a fake Christmas tree, with a metal rod sticking out the end. Anyway, we all just walked away and I told the first CM that we came to that a branch had fallen. And that was that. UNTIL...
I was watching the local news this morning and they said that the Tree of Life had been closed because a branch fell on Saturday!!!!
I haven't had much time to read the boards, because, well, I'm at Disney! But I had to share. I'm heading home at 4am - will check back in when I get home.
I feel so bad that they closed everything, but 3 feet to the right and this might have been a much different story...
