We always go around the 2nd week of September to the beginning of October....mostly for Food and Wine...but we do all 4 parks. I really want no part of dealing with the insanity of the 1st week of October....just wondering what people thought would be better....earlier Sept...or Late Oct/early Nov?????

This is pure speculation on my part. October 1 is the start of the 50th celebrations, which, apparently will then last for months. If you really want to avoid it, I would go earlier in September. I also think once you hit late October/early November, you are going to run into other possible events like Jersey week and, possibly, an early Nov. runDisney event (if they hold it this year).

We also normally go right before Halloween. Usually a great time to visit.

if you go all the time I’d wait for ratatouille to open and plan for late October/early November. As ap holders we really enjoy when new things open at Disney and if I was planning a trip and had flexibility knowing that ratatouille is opening 10/1 I’d wait for after that.

Remember Sept is hurricane season. I'd vote for late Oct/early Nov. You may even see the holiday change over!

I mean, I suppose people will book past the actual day to celebrate the 50th? I just don't see the big rush as honestly, they aren't doing much so far besides decorating the castle and it lasts for 18 months.

Also, I assume next year will be the first school year back with in person classes. Outside of normal fall breaks, I don't see parents pulling their kids out of schools for vacation right away.

So, skip out first 3 weeks of October (fall breaks) would be my advice, go anytime after. (outside Jersey week)

If you're ok with missing out on Remy, go in September. If Remy is important to you, go in November.

The 50th anniversary crowds are probably overblown (as of now). Disney has announced nothing that would draw in huge crowds for months and months. I think only that 1st week will be extremely crowded.

After that, I assume typical crowds. That changes if Disney announces some reason for people to visit.

I prefer Halloween timeframe and weather, personally. Early September you have long Labor Day weekend and northerners cramming in visit before school starts (we start school in early August here in Georgia).

Crowds are better in September than late October, not even considering the 50th anniversary. But for me, I'd rather contend with crowds than deal with the heat and rain that September can bring. Late October generally has more comfortable weather.

We are going 2nd week in September specifically hoping the 50th draws more people away and into October.

We have gone the 3rd week of October for years and the crowds have been manageable.
With the 50th starting October 1, I suspect it will still be crowded.
If you don't care about seeing the 50th stuff, I would go September.
Otherwise mid November is good as long as you miss Jersey week. We did that once, and it was a mistake. Very crowded.

Can't believe they're holding it till Oct!!!! GRRRRR

It's not necessarily 50th anniversary alone that will cause the crowds in October. Pre-covid, October started to get insane while summer was dead, to the point that they were offering unheard of things like Free Dining in the summer months to lure people back. Years of websites and guides beating the drum of October being "slow" is the culprit, along with more and more school districts scheduling fall breaks (something that really wasn't a thing back in the day). Keep that in mind, plus the "revenge travel" demand. More people will be vaccinated and comfortable with traveling again, more states are lifting quarantine restrictions and a lot of people are holding off until the fall, banking on more normalcy at WDW.

Personally I don't care, and we're going for the anniversary 2 weeks so have all the time in the world to navigate things at our own pace, but I would absolutely not be shocked to see crowds throughout all of October.

We enjoy the parks right before the Halloween holiday for the Wine View Lounge at Party of the Senses. One trip the weather was excellent and more fall like. The other trip was at least 90 everyday. Not at all like fall. Both times the parks have been VERY crowded.
