I do have two children... However, they do not share my love of CIncinnati CHili! In fact, when I make it- they eat plain hotdogs while I eat a 4-way!

What is Cincinnati Chili?

It is sooo weird!

I'm from NY. We have coney dogs, but we don't call them chili.

Cincinnati eats their chili on top of spaghetti and then they cover the chili with chedder cheese, beans, onions and/or sometimes sour cream.

Ain't no tex-mex.

There seem to be two different flavors - Skyline makes ones and Gold Star makes another and you only can like one. There is a big difference in the taste, but I like them both just fine. Lots of people will only eat or the other.

Next time I'm out shopping, I'll pick up some more flavor packets and send you some.

Never had Cincinnati Chili, but it sounds good! Our good ol Texas chili has the same toppings it sounds like, although we do like to add Fritos to it. Ok, now I am hungry.

I'm a Sky Line girl all the way! I used to work at Cincinnati Mills (when I was in college) and I would go have Sky Line on my dinner break. Brings back lots of happy memories.

Aroyer - Speaking from the point of view of a transplanted Texan, I would LOVE some good tex mex or bar-be-cue. I'm stuck with nothing much good of both.

My SS is getting lots of food related goodies from my area. I thought that was what we were supposed to do. There are also some scrappy things but a lot of it is Northern Cali stuff.

You are so sweet!!! Yes, I am missing Texas. If you could just wrap her up and ship her over, I would be ever so grateful.

Honestly, I am doing mostly OK. I have one restaurant where I can get authentic Texas-style brisket and a couple of places that do an OK enchilada. I would really love some good chili, fried okra and chicken fried steak that I don't have to make myself but that is not meant to be.

I so badly miss Blue Bell ice cream! When I just can't take it anymore, I go to Outback Steakhouse because they serve Blue Bell vanilla ice cream with their desserts.

I keep trying to convince my husband that we should move to Texas. He doesn't agree but I think I might be able to wear him down eventually.

At least they are finally selling Shiner Bock over here in the Hinterlands!

That's a good idea in theory but I am in Northen California and the samples are in Southern California. I can send a dungeness crab but I think the crab AND my SS would probably not care for that!

That is the thing I miss the most about stuck inland. No fresh seafood.


See how much I know about CA? I always thought the vineyards were in the middle to northern section of the state.
