Fall PI "In Submission", not "In Progress"

My son applied for an engineering PI in mid February (when they first came out). The job did not close until March 31. I know that no activity usually happens until after that closing date, but just concerned that he's just "in submission", not "in progress". He seems kinda "stuck". Is this typical? I know that engineering does things differently from other PIs, but this is his third time applying, and he's never been in submission this long. Previously he was in progress for a couple of months til he went NLIC. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thx!

Have him go to the FB group. I've seen others post about the Engineering internships but don't recall what they had to say. He should join that group. Very informative and supportive!

Thanks for your reply! He signed up for the group and told me that there is someone on there who posted just the other day that he was also in submission for all his engineering PIs. So I guess this is normal! Thx again!
