They actually have a lot of violent and suicidal implications and images...

I will say that MCR and FOB has good music to dance to and listen to if you are hyper.....but I agree with Ash is saying that their lyrics are somewhat disturbing.

I love a wide variety of music. My favorite bands/singers are Aerosmith, Nickelback, Creed, Bon Jovi, Foo Fighters, Trapt, Puddle of Mudd, Santana, Panic! At the Disco (sometimes, lol ) 3 Doors Down, and Sarah McLachlan.

I listen to mostly rock, but I like basically all genres.

I personally like them. We like what we like. I like more indie and emo music though. But people have differences,you have to remember that. If you don't like what I like,fine. If you like what I like,great.

Their music is pretty catchy and some people really like it. Everyone has their own taste of music and not everyone cares whether a band is overrated or not.

Fall out boy..Hmm.. I only like Dance,Dance and Sugar were going down.. I like the rythem for a upbeat, cruising in the car type-of thing. My Chemical Romance is deep, people can say what they want but their lyrics are good and music is pretty good to..

I agree with the idea that it is good "pump me up music" but actually many of the lyrics are quite violent and disturbing if you listen to them for real...

I like FOB on occassion and when it's on the radio.

Bands I like are punk-pop and a little emo such as Yellowcard ( ), Avril Lavigne (Not as much, but still do, I confess), Something Corporate, Panic! At the Disco (SOOO catchy, but won't listen to most of it b/c it's disturbing).

Not a big MCR fan tho...only "I'm Not Ok" - again, too violent and disturbing.

I like the whole "You broke my heart but I still love you" music Munky! Hahahaha, can't help it.

I made a CD of some of my favorite songs...and they ranged from Yellowcard to Something Corporate to Disney to Michael Buble to Panic! to O-Zone (YESSSS Romanians!!!) to Coldplay to Damien Rice. Shrugs...I have tons of different tastes in music...though I tend to stay away from rap and country unless A)Dancing or B)It's really good/pop-ish country.

Yeah, we like a ton of the same music. I loooove Panic! ATD (actually listening to them right now) and Yellowcard.

Well I like FOB and I think they have good music. It's just kinda different. I mean they are not my favorite band. What's AFI? I do like to listen to the artic monkeys and the subways. British bands rock.

Personally I love Fall Out Boy!! I love the whole kind of emo thing I guess you could call it! I love Pete, Andy, Joe, and Patrick!! I think their music is fun to listen to, I love the lyrics and to me they are poetic and thought through! I also think that they aren't trying to be the next big thing!! I saw them in concert and they just love to have fun and play!!! I don't think Pete's a jerk I think he is just an adult who likes to act like a kid!! So I 100% believe that they are a good band, with good songs, and great lyrics!!

FOB is not emo by any stretch of the imagination and i agreee that everyones taking the FOB thing to a new level and this is comming from someone who enojyed their music long before it ever hit mtv or radio stations ( not saying that i know hate them cause there main stream). But i dont think MCR falls into this "Over rated band with insanely obsene bassist man who takes nudes of himself" lol

Uuugh. FOB. Where do I start? When I'm showing people my iPod, I cringe when they are going through the artists and see them. One good song.

I could also go on and on about the whole emo craze. I mean jesus, I was just talking about it today with one of my friends. They were playing a ton of emo songs during lunch, and I was asking my friends, "what ever happened to rock songs being about drugs, s*x, and partying? It just seems to me that the mainstream rock has gone from a, "you cheated on me, get out of my life" attitude, to a, "I know you cheated on me but I'm sure we can work this out because I really really love you" attitude. I make fun of emo kids at school. It used to be guys would wear makeup because it was the glam rock thing. Now they do it to, "express their personality". I don't get the whole thing where they wear chick's pants and pink shirts and whatnot.

This is why when I listen to new bands, I listen to bands such as Godsmack, Nickelback, Default, Saliva, Kid Rock, etc. Bands such as Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance can fall off a cliff for all I care.

as a songwriter, this 'music' and these 'lyrics' offend me. people who write this get famous while people who write actual, meaningful, even amazing lyrics and music are unsung. (forgive the pun)

I am a fan of "you broke my heart get out of my life". "you broke my heart but I still love you" is okay for one or two songs, but my god, how many different ways can you say it. its turned into teh 'cookie cutter' of song lyrics.
